What is this 'groen' thing I keep seeing in peoples sigs? I think it's something from Holland but I'm not sure, any takers?

Posted

yeah they say vote Groenlinks. Meaning... vote for Greenleft... anyway.... it's just with the upcoming elections, they want us to vote for Groenlinks (not that i will do that). and the sigs who have it are Timenn's and Earthnukers sigs... but they can't vote yet HEEHEEEHEE! CDA or PVDA will rule the upcoming elections (I hope CDA)

Don't vote PvdA !

We had a plan, a few postmen in Rotterdam would deside not to give an election certificat to people who had a PvdA poster or who are known to be PvdA supporters. ;D

Just 2 days away from the elections .. . what will it be .. .?

Just don't vote PvdA, don't do it. . . you should know better. ::) :-

Thom C. de Graaf, Vote for-vote against . . Jan G.C.A. Marijnissen, Mat Herben or mayby Femke Halsema or Emil I don't care [ not that much that is] . . but what ever you do . .don't vote PvdA !

btw. who is with me, I would like to have a few pictures of Femke instead of those of Winny . . ;D

Woah there actually is a city called Rotterdam? *Remembers it in Ender's Shadow*

So Groenlinks is socialist? Are the competitors socialist as well?

Think our politics are so screwed up at this point that no one knows what they are, or should be.

It's used in Hitman to .. the wonderfull city of Rotterdam ;)

And a Bond movie I though, just briefly. Don't forget Jacky . .

I lived just below it geografically for a while, and been to school there :D

You hounestly didn't know of one of the biggest ports in the world ? Shame on you ! ;)

"one of the biggest ports in the world "

Shame on you! It is the biggest port in the world 8)

Singapore is gaining on us though...

Oh yeah, and how dare you put the LPF above the PvdA! I don't like the PvdA that much, but the LPF....*shudders*

You know, this is going to sound weird, I really hope they are grown up by now. They had plenty of time to do so :-

And as I was wondering what to vote, SP, Thom C. de Graaf .. somewhere in my mind voting LPF again didn't seem that strange.

We have elected a government, and they have to grow up and deal with it. It's not their place to say they can't work with eathother. They are a representation of the people. And when they fall there is a serious problem in that way . . .

Besides that. They got ridoff the oposition way to easy. Couldn't deal with the LPF, so just drop this fraction and vote all over again .. yea right .. so PvdA and CDA can get back to how it was .. like nothing changed in the lasts few months. . . To me that was just the easy way out for the known big parties.

All and all, to me it doesn't sound that strange to vote LPF a second time. But not with the same devotion I have voted for Pim Fortuyn the first time.

Rotterdam, Amsterdam, The Hague...what...so I have a thing for history, and I had to learn about Dutch Geography during World War 2 in 20Th Century History! As for Socialism, does America even have a Socialist party anymore, I could've sworn it was outlawed...

for a military buff acriku you sure dont know ww2 german history from 1941 to 43.

Rotterdam got bombed after Hollland surenderd. The order to stop the bombing never made it out intime. Rotterdam was in ruins.

Well i guess it's pointless to say 'Vote LPF' !... heh people like groenlinks couldn't take the fact that he was right, so 1 of those socialists shot Pim fortuyn (let's say the creator of LPF) in the head. You want those people to take the lead? or perhaps PvDA those assholes have been leading our country for the last 8 years, and made our country a DAMN expensive place to live, unless your 1 of those *allochtonen' who get their cash by getting lot's of children and recieve money for 'child's support'.

I guess CDA is the only option left,

to bad i cant vote :@

G'day

And you can't vote because...?

I'm sick of guys like you yelling that it's all the fault of left wing parties. We didn't tell anyone to shoot Fortuyn. Fortuyn called all animal right activists morons and was going to undo many of their achievements, and that is why he was shot, despite whatever Volkert says now because he's talking bullsh*t right now.

And yes, Fortuyn was going to make everything better huh? He promised a lot of things he would never be able to achieve. The most promising politician ever ::)

I suppose you'd have us all vote for the LPF again- they did damn little of all the things they promised, and what's more, they f*cked up the cabinet. Next time, people, vote for a real party ::)

Thanks for the advice Earthnuker . .but unfortunately it came to late.

Just voted when I got back from school. At first I was still doubting, now I just hope others will vote Thom de Graaf .. think he could do good. But voted LPF myslef. . .a second time.

All parties did little of what they promised. And mayby CDA the most, or less for that matter . . . . .who gave the order or judgment to drop the present cabinet while they should be ruling the country ? That wasn't just the LFP.

Anyway, think all politicians over here are more yelling at eatchother and staying with there views then that they are debating on solutions or even talking about starting to change things. They all wann'a be right at this time. . all want the voters to vote for them. And to me that's just to much . . can't they just run the country all together instead of fighting among themslefs :- ::)

They are all in that single room together, stop jelling and start acting as adults and make some desissions, change a few things and start ruling a country.

Think we have a lot of real parties, they just didn't and still don't act that way. Non of them.

Discussion is always there in politics. That is the nice thing about politics. That people listen to each other. And then you get that Fortuyn who is not listening to anybody and says to everyone that the current politics is wortheless.

I listened back then to Melkert, a very good politician, who was only voted away because he didn't looked cool enough, he told alot of things Paars (Purple = red (the color of PvdA (Party of the laborers)) + blue (VVD)) had accomplished in those 8 years. It made me consider that Fortuyn was an unhappy buggerd. Who was just complaining because he couldn't buy his 3597th BMW that month (Well this is not correct of course, but to give an idea)

Well, people have learned now that LPF isn't the solution. They really messed it up by letting the cabinet fall. And that only because of some arguements in the party (I could not stop laughing when Mat Herben (He is the person heading the LPF) said to Wouter Bos (Person heading the PvdA) that you had political and personal arguements. And that they could solve the personal arguements)

But the problem is that CDA gets so many votes because people still have the idea that left winged parties spread hatred about Fortuyn (They were only debating with him, because they had a different opinion, the whole idea about democracy) and so people are not happy and they wanted no LPF and they also didn't wan't VVD, because they were part of Paars. So they voted CDA.

People should realise that there is more in politics then people yelling to others that everything politics is a mess.

The reason why I want GroenLinks to grow is that I grant the people 3 generatins after me a health Netherlands, and a healthy and clean world

For non dutch I would give a small overview of some parties, their side, and their leader)

GroenLinks (GreenLeft) socialists, lead by Femke Halsema (female)

SP (Socialistic Party) duh... , lead by Jan Marijnissen (male)

PvdA (Party of the laborers) between socialists and liberalists, lead by Wouter Bos (male)

VVD (?) liberalists, lead by Gerrit Zalm (male)

CDA (Christian Democratic Appel) christian democrats, lead by Jan Peter Balkenende (male)

D66 (Democrats '66) liberal-democrats, a bit socialistic, lead by Thom de Graaf (male)

LPF (List Pim Fortuyn) right-winged..., lead by Mat Herben (male)

Partially I agree with that. The comments Pim Fortuyn had on the former cabinetwhere not all justified. But then, are they ever in politics ?

The second thing is exactly what still is happening in a way. People arn't listening to eatch other. A 3FM disckjockey this morning gave the following comment on the debate last night.

"all those people brought an LP with them, and played it over and over again, Wouter Bos just had one LP unfortunately"

About the LFP, I must agree. And after I've voted for them the first time and saw the mess the party was in [ and had created for themselfs ], I thought a second vote for them would be out of the question. That's why I had to "think" verry hard ;) if I should vote for Thom de Graaf, or trust that Mat Herben had made a solid party out of the previous groep.

Don't know if I have chosen correctly, but choose the second. Just hope they make it. :)

And about Wouter Bos. "politics is placing a smart face with every piece of good luck". :-x

CDA here. I do not see much future in LPF. And D66 was hardly mentioned this season (kinda strange).

PvdA is pretty good IMO, but CDA comes closest i guess.

Yeah, I thought it was a shame D66 wasn't invited in any of the debates.

Oh yeah, here's a favourite quote of mine.

Politicians are the same everywhere. They promise to build a bridge, even if there is no river.
