Westwood/EA recently repackaged the game into one of their classics so it may not be in all the stores. You should be able to find it online though.

Didn't this whole website used to be blue?

The past few years have been a dizzying nightmare and absoulte bliss for me. I firmly believe what Nietzsche once said: "That which does not kill you, makes you stronger."

I've checked in on the site from time to time and the community seems to have flourished despite the mixed blessings and the recent upsets the community has had. I'll try and spit my two cents in from time to time.

You can still get the old blue/red layout, on the main page there is a dropdown box to pick a few different layouts.

I found one place that still had it local for $15. i have it and can play now, but I can't get the in game movies to work. The sound cuts out, anyone else had this?

It's a common problem, most people had it who got the game immediatly (I know I did). The solution is really easy, check the tech forums, it probably says what to do somewhere.

Mecha!! I remember you from my newbie days! Welcome back! :)

Many things have happened in the past 3 years, indeed... Here's a short rundown:

Dune2k didn't fare so good and the site got very few visitors while we ran out of things to talk about but then Stefan gave us all a ray of hope with his Arrakis 2000 project and we were all talking about it especially me and Shaddam who had a massive argument about whether tanks should be in it or not which he unfortunately won so there were to be no tanks in A2k but the project slowly ground to a halt and died down taking Fed2k into a very bad period which only ended with the announcement of Emperor which caused massive celebrations and an ever-increasing community but after the release the EA bastards stopped supporting it and eventually closed the official forums which prompted the entire Emperor community to come to FED2k and now even as Emperor is dying we have a nice little community set up and we mostly talk about politics and religion over and over again the the General forum while Emperor is still bringing in new people all the time.
