:) hi im new to the message boards, and i would like to say hi to every one here. I used to be in tad clan but now joined up with line2kill in a new clan called L2KS and i would like to invite any one to play me in a clan game, good luck to all the clans this month in reaching top rank!! thanks promagnum

there's something i haven't seen in a while. someone asking for a bcm outside of the game. lol. well it's always nice to have a new person join the forum here. i'm a little confused though. are you new to emperor too or just to the forums?

:) yes i am to the message boards but kinda new to dune, ive been playing now for about three months i guess, and yes i asked about clan battles , and the reason why is..... when i was with tad clan i didnt get to play much because of ppl not wanting to do a battle clan. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome ppl, i hope to see u in the playing rooms, also a little info, i just played this guy in a clan game, u used ...... well how do i say it, his airdrones were hidden in the dark, i couldnt kill them. Is this cheating? His name was taweep with the mang clan i think, i won but barely becasue of my carryalls were being killed> just a little "fyi" to u ppl who play the game fairly, thanks....... promagnum

Yes using drones in the black zone is considered as cheating and that taweep is doing that is already mentioned before on the dune2k messageboard

ain't no cheating unless the person uses thrird-party software during the course of the game to alter the game illegally (or DC cheats by playing special hardware tricks), and to be honest, if you don't know how and/or are unable to kill air drones then you deserve to Lose.

It's cheating. It's a bug that has always existed and allows aircraft to become undetectable and invulnerable when positioned at the edge of the map. It's abuse of a bug and dishonourable, if not cheating.

Ok nav, for you using the drones in the black zone is not cheating, good to know that. If any of us play against you on wol, we know what to expect.

well if you know how to kill a unit that is undetectable and invincible then you are no longer a demi god, nav. you are a god. so please reveal some of your other-worldly wisdom upon us and tell us how you do it. otherwise i'll just straight up call you a cheater.

whoa, you don't mean me do you? ??? Using the air drone bug is lame and another way of cheating of the millions of ways in this game. ok, well maybe not millions but there are quite a few. like that thing that emprworm knows about to destroy an entire base from the distance of the map. i suppose nav wouldn't see that as a cheat either. ::)

to say "the air drone bug is cheating" is a ludicrous statement. i have never used that bug myself mostly just 'cause i couldn't be bothered figuring out how it works and didn't need to anywayz 'cause i've always owned without it.

BUT!

if you are gonna say that using the air drone bug is "cheating", then i could just as easily and with equal validity, say that attacking the enemy harvesting in Emperor is cheating. on most maps, Hark and Ordos can reach the Atreides harvesting with their powerful vehicles long before the Atreides can put any sort of reasonable defense in place because the harvesting goes all over the map in the most asinine places imaginable. due to bugs documented by Westwood, which Westwood fully-intended to fix, namely, Refinery Waypoints - you can not even put your harvesting where you want it to go; as you are *SUPPOSED* to be able to. yet the enemy is free to attack your harvesters and carryalls: which it *ONLY* is able to access as a result of these documented bugs which Westwood wanted to, promised to, yet failed to fix

therefore, unless you are going to tell me that attacking the enemy harvesting when it goes where he does not want it to - is cheating - then no rational argument can be made to say that the Air Drone bug is cheating

but you can make your harvesters go somewhere else MANUALLY at least for a little while. you CAN play at another map that it's not as big of a deal. you CAN find some way to get around it. it is IMPOSSIBLE to shoot down a Air Drone/ADP that is in the black part of the map. therefore it's cheating. there is not way around it. there is not map that it doesn't affect. sometimes on a two on two match i'll get killed or something and see whoever i was paired up with make a last stand with an ADP. they send litterally like 50 air drones and 40 AA mines and nothing happens except all the air drones and AA mines die. there isn't a way around it. it's cheating. if you still think it's fair nav i'd like you to explain to me how.

no rogue1986 you can NOT get around the harvesting bugs, here's some free lessons {can't believe i'm even taking the time to respond to such un-enlightened comments}:

1. they are prevalent on *most* Emp maps, playing "another map" is just gonna be "another map with the same bugs" more often than not

2. manually moving your harvs doesn't do *anything* for you except move them to the new spice for *one pickup* at most. sometimes, not even. if you spend all your time manually moving your harvs individually for just one pickup, you're unquestionably dead because of all the things the enemy will be doing while you waste that time just clicking on harvs constantly. if you do that, there *is* no time for anything else.

3. you are entirely incorrect that there is "no way" to kill air drones as they use the air drone bug. they have to exit the black space at regular intervals at which point they are vulnerable

4. there is no "kill the enemy base from anywhere" bug LOL that's just base-less rumor-mongering
