I had a Christmas card with 'Season's Greetings' in 9 different languages... But I can't be bothered to go and get it.

Merry Christmas everyone! And a happy New Year!

(Time to celebrate GREED! Glorious glorious GREED!)

i celebrate Christmas, not xmas. I live near Seattle, Washington.

omg, did i waste two posts to find out that you can't live with the word Xmas? :)

True ofcourse it is Christmas... but what's wrong with spelling it like Xmas? I mean. Don't you use words like:

u

r

4

etc.?

You can also celebrate that we enter the shortest days. Except for those people on the other side. They will now have their longest days

This abbreviation ("X" for "Christ") is very old. It dates back to ancient times. I can't remember its origin, though. But it had something to do with the Greek alphabet...

Its not called the X-ian Crusades is it? Its not the X-endom or X-ianity. When Baptized it's not called X-ening nor should the Celibration of Jesus' birth be X-mas.

It is Christian Crusades, Christendom, Chirstianity, Christening, & Christmas. Without the root word Chirst the whole meaning is lost. X-mas is an empty Holiday without the Chirst. Thats what its celibrated for not for that fat man in the red suit at the mall. like I siad before that would be Santmas.

Ok, as I started the mistake to use X-mas instead of Christmas. I hereby appologise to those of you who where offended by that way of spelling.

:)

And just if you are celebrating Christmas as a religious holliday, there might be people who are celebrating X-mas [ or Christmas ] as non-religious people. Although there arn't many people without religion, I myself do not celebrate Chrismas nor X-mas. At this moment I'm even working. Asked for it specially so the others didn't have to take this shift and could be with there lovedones.

Anyway, what it comes down to. It doesn't matter if you spell it Christmas, X-mas, Weihnachten, Noel or Kerstmis. It's about the idea behind it. And we all know that that is a religious one.

That's enought about it. :)

[ also for all of you ;) ]

Marry Christmas to all !
