High intelligence and Simpsons

I have noticed something, there is a connection between high intelligence and watching simpsons and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. One of my friends who is going to a film school in New York and another who has a full ride scholorship to M.I.T. are extremely into both shows. I also have another friend who is going to U.C. Berkley and loves both too. Its strange. Any people who love both shows? I love them personally. Its funny that most of the people who work on simpsons are yale and harverd graduates, Conan O'Brien himself is a harverd graduate. and both shows are so damn funny! anybody agree?

The Simpsons is the best and actually the most intellectually improving show in US. People think just because its a cartoon it is for kids, but in really it has more adult themes like corruption, etc. more than any other show.

well people like stanely kurbrick and many other great directors, writers, scientists love Simpsons. Its strange.lol It really is more intelligent than it seems and there are so many jokes that people miss out on.

First of all, Simpsons is not propaganda. At least 90% of all the stuff on their are the true facts of life. It is not anti-chraistian - it just shows the corruption of church. It is not extremist - it shows the governement as being corrupt just like govt of any country including US.

The jokes said about that are tongue and cheek humor. Not to be taken seriously. Thats the genius of it. It is harmless but at the same time contains many witty remarks and satires that ar e just plain funny.

Also, they take general stereotypes and put them into the cartoon, and make it satirical. Not to mention not knowing what Homer does next! Halloween special 12 was my favorite, with the Bond-personality machine with a fondness for Marge :D

"Go, go! for the good of the city!"--Comic book guy

"My son is a quitter so i just called to prove him wrong, so I quit. (winks at the phone) "uhh Homer, mister burns cant see you wink." "...ahh!"--- Homer simpson trying to teach his son a lesson

"Homer, its time to go home now," "excuse me while I kiss the sky!" (turns on the massage chair and warps back into the 2001 stargate."-- Homer

"Okay bart, what is the sound of one hand clapping?" "This of course" (bart claps one hand)

-- lisa trying to teach bart

Anyways I could go on with quotes from really really really funny parts from simpsons.lol

I might even post my favorite quotes from other comedy movies and tv. It isnt that bad.lol

Nav dune is far more anti-christian than the simpsons...

IMO it's an enjoyable reflection on the imperfections of society, but it has a fresh, innocent, satirical perspective on it. It analyzes real events and real issues and satirizes them, but it maintains a common touch with the people so it isn't upper class or snobbish. I analyzed a few episodes for an English project and saw almost every literary technique in existance.

It exaggerates reality in a funny way, with replaced examples of real events. Like when Apu and Mandula had eight babies (man that was a funny episode). There was a group of pentuplets that actually did a show similar to that.

"Look Homer, you're punching the cat right now."

"Oh am i not...Oh my god, you're right. I'm a rageholic. I'm addicted to ragehol."

"What is it boy? Tornado, Flood, Hippies? *gasp* Hurricane?" "The Hurricane"

funny stuff.

"Wiggum, sure lady. a elephant just walked across your yard."

"Wiggum, sure. an elephant just trampled down your mailbox."

"Wiggum, ya, ok. Liquor store robbery, polic officer down."

Do you watch the Commedy Channel often ?

In noe of the first months of this year there was a commedian on that channel who oppered that. He made a joke of it after a universal graduate had done a studie on it. ...pretty weird stuff ;)

The Simpsons is nothing but depraved, disgusting anti-Christian radical left-wing extremist propaganda

You are nothing but a whiney, facist looser who needs to get a life.

End rant.

Well I will say Simpsons are not for children. I dont see it as a family show, it spun off from an adult comedy, The Tracy Ullman show.

But I'm not gonna lie and say I didnt watch em ;D

I prefer Conan O'Brien to Jay Leno, I used to stay up late to watch it, but I just don't have time for it any more. I like it though. And I watch The Simpsons whenever I have time. I like them both. Also, I took an IQ test on the internet and scored 135, certifiable genius. *shrugs*

Not as much as Bart scored when he cheated off Martin.

Homer "916!"

"No, you're holding it upside down. It's 216 whhich is still excellent"

"Sometimes genious is genetic, but sometimes" Look at Homer "it is a total mystery"

LOL
