It appears that some people that play Emperor online do not understand manners when it comes to joining someone else's game. These are the sort of people that just say: ok me (player) and x (player that they want to ally with).

Is it just me, or doesn't the host decide the settings and what the teams will be in their own game? If the players in someone else's room don't like anything in the game settings, then they can leave the room and set up their own game. No one said they couldn't do that.

What's your opinion on this? Do you think that people that host games should have the right to determine what the teams will be in their game, and what the settings will be? Or is it ok to let someone just come in your room and demand this and demand that? ??? ::)

Off course host decides the setts. But a incomming player should be allowed to ask for different setts. The host can then decide to change them or not.

My faverate sentece:

Host Setts: Fisher Plain and 10k.

Person enters: MORE MONEY PLZ

Me: BIGGER MAP PLZ...

So i think it's ok to ask for different setts, but HOST DECIDES !!

I was kicked once in a skir, cuz all i said was "change map", but that was cuz he had a 2 player map while there were 4 players in the game.

yeah, but i thought fisher plain was the biggest map?

Maybe some sarcasm...

But I really don't care which map I play, or what settings. Only crates count for me (on)

But yes... The host decides. And there is always the option for the host to right click on someone and...

But I try to make some good teams. And I try to make balanced teams. So for example:

<joopknoop[1]> me with jaapknaap

<jaapknaap[2]> ok

And the other one is a newbie, then I don't agree. (Note: the number between [] is the ranking)

A lot of players forget that a newbie's integration into emperor is a mammoth task. If you cant remember what that's like, just create a stupid nick and walk into a veterans room.

Click > kicked out. The veterans can be as rude as the newbies but in xianmace's thread I do agree - host decides. It is only the newbie trying to see a fair vantage over the veterans experience and preferred choice - who can blame the newbie for asking the change? It is when they ask who vs who after a change in the setts and then suddely leave that gets my goat.

The easiest I find is to wait for a full room and ask the newbie - who do you want to play with. If you're unlucky to be picked then you are already making an interesting challenge for yourself. If the newbie picks the other, and the veteran leaves? Well, that shows the persons muscle doesnt it.

I think it's the case of treat how you expect to be treated in return. A newbie aint a newbie for long, and they dont forget.

With certainty, and later they are complaining that in qm it does not have players...

It stops and it thinks reason the people (newbs) does not like rush.

Pointy have to see if this players not is clan mates... or same emprworm and sardcore etc...

You have to be nice to the noobs... we were all there once.

I think the thread refers to skirmishes with 4 players in mind. A newb shouldnt/cant complain in QM's - if they do they'd lose. Their typing would screw their build order and any tactic they had in mind. The less one is distracted from the game the more likely a win will result (not forgetting skill etc). In BC's its a different case altogether. Newbs cant/shouldnt complain there either - a, they'd need to be in a clan - b, the only person you should be talking to is your clan mate so newb exposure is null.

I remember complaining a few times about people rushing in skirmishes and this was because a good connection speed would be wasted. There is nothing clever about rushing in skirmishes other than the sheer determination to finish the game and wait another half hour to do the whole thing, again and again. Some of us have time for that, some of us have patience for it, some of us get the buzz from total wins in a day, be it skirms, bc's, or qm's, but on the whole a rush is wasted on a good connection. Maybe rushing should be left to QM's, or BC's - there the skill of survival is tested as much as the strategy design is tested. Most people, including newbs, hope to experience a good long old fashioned battle where all the units are used to their max. Simply rushing everything kills an otherwise potentially exciting game.

Good subject ixianmace.

The other day i wanted to play using my nick harrip0tt, and i was kicked from almost all the games i joined. Until some1 recognized me and I played a few good games.

But to make it simply, chances are big of getting kicked if someone joins any game that is being hosted from clan members of : bum and skum, so hostile in their games.

Ya pointy but its started in qm i think, in old times in 10 or 11 months ago i try play qm and i dont remember what was the guy that say a lot of shit becouse i losed ( lol the game was 30 minuts i remember he build 2 minos and droped me with eng) say that i suck in brasil only have monkey etc etc... was repugnant and i stop forever to play emperor if i have the chance to KICK HE ASS!!!! in nowadays!!!!

Ouch!

That hurts. That is news to me - perhaps some examples of your bad experiences with either my clan or Mr Atrdemons? Some people get kicked all the time hence my point - I was merely pointing out my experiences of being kicked out by my own members (whilst under a different nick), in addition to other clans/players. It is obviously a continuing issue that will never go away. Lol thats why we're talking about it. ;)

Well i think QM is another subject. Back in time when i was playing QM, i always asked (when i was winning) if they wanted to get some tips. Then i always hinted them what they could do better....

In the other case, if i was losing, i always asked for tips from the other player. Sometimes they were usefull sometimes not.

But in skirmish i don't want me and a noob, vs 2 veterans. It's just not a challenge... (and i get stressed saving him and myself).I sometimes do 2vs2 with niewbies. Then i would explain them etc.. not to upgrade their conyard and stuff like that. A skirmish with 1 noob + 1 veteran vs 1 noob + 1 veteran would be ok. Or 1 veteran and 3 noobs.

I am willing to teach people, but not that it costs me nerves.

I remember a guy OwlOwl. He always played qm and always lost. I always asked him to help him, give tips, but he NEVER EVER answered.

So to QM players, if u win, give tips to the other player. You also secure like that, that they don't c/d you ;)

In truth, I seldom do qm's (despite what nav says >:() simply because my preferred style of playing is big bombs, big army, big everything. I have my Joe Satriani music on loud, a big bowl of munchees, a packet of cigs, a working lighter, and the cat who is usually between between the keyboard and the screen. Qm's are too intense for my laid back persona. To me its about inter-game camaradarie which doesnt exist in qm's, nor with newbies (most the time).

So if somebody is rude to me like that, as you have shown in your thread Rota, I'd kick them with my virtual foot if I see them again and only hope it'd be the last time.

yeah, but i thought fisher plain was the biggest map?

Fishers is the largest official map ... there are larger maps available; like Gunwounds Platium 3.

It is ment ironical... You left out the part that first the person says: MORE MONEY....

It is such a newbie sentence... Just like BIGGER MAP....

If a newbie with a big mouth enters the gama and it is Knife Fight with QM setts the first thing they say is BIGGER MAP, MORE MONEY...

So i am ironical if i say BIGGER MAP on Fishers Plain... ::)

Man u wanted me to leave ur game the other day, saying I always kicked you out of my games. Well now ur talkin abt it on the boards and all, wtf r u thinking man? I *never* kicked you out of my games also not when u were using harrip0tt, coz i know u2 r the same person.

But you keep insisting, and now involving all games hosted by SKUM or BUM. All the games of mine u were in and went out, u went out cos u pressed that button that says "back".

I got no beef with u but you must try to keep bullshit from leaving your mouth.

And if someone has to go,I ask them to leave, and usually it is cos a mate wants in. And hell yea if they dont go after I ask 2 or 3 times they get my boot up their arse. Cos I'm not waiting untill after like an hour the question gets thru their thick skulls. And that kick option aint for flares.

Currently, it can be found in Gunwound's briefcase (don't remember the URL for it) ... and if everything goes as planned, it will be on *FEW* & Few*Jr's website; which is currently being completely reworked ... Hopefully, I will have everything accomplished by this weekend.

Ahhh yeah i remember owlowl hahahaa, every month he had like a win loss record of 4-52 or something, but i respect him he never cheated and never ducked, thats how all players should be.
