During the reign of sullyman the magnificnt...

If memory serves me right...somewhare between 1530 and 1630.

I didnt say all of russia. I said some southern parts of it. IE the parts of russia between the georgian sates and crimea, russia didnt even exist in 1530 if memory serves me right...

All who surrender will be spared;

whoever does not surrender but opposes with struggle and dissension,

shall be annihilated.

--Genghis Khan

no, if khan besieged a city and the city tried to defend himself all inhabitants, i say ALL inhabitants, woman, children, cripple were as good as dead since once khan got trough into the city he murdered every single person in the city, they did this in russia and china, killing thousands of people just because of vengeance. genghis khan was an ass

Exactly, they did not surrend so death would be their destiny.

If you mean the Ottomans then your wrong. They did not control Russia. And they didn't control all of those countries at the same time.

The did try control them, but the area they conquer is so big, controlling them efficiently is almost impossible.

that is why all empires sooner or later fall apart.

But they did conqur and hold there territories for quite awhile.

And put down many rebelions.

but that is not why there empire crumbled...it was sorta corput :'(

Their empire did fall very soon, but that started after Khan's death.

Did Khan have any sons? If no and memory serves me right, the Mogolian's generals took that lands for themselves after Khan's death and thats how the empire fell ......

khan is the mongolian leader, genghis khan means something like genghis the leader or something like that but anyway the ottomans made a great empire but just look at the size of asia and the mongolian empire also conquered most of the middle east, almost asia in a whole and eastern europe, do i need to say more?

I mean germanic. And the western roman empire did fall in the hands of germanic tribes (more like scavengers of a nearly dead empire), if memory serves me.

The Huns were quite like the Mongols as they were all mounted and used mounted archers. They were different because the Mongols knew what tactics were and had better technology. And yes it was the Huns who brought about the fall of the western Roman Empire (the eastern side continued for a while but was soon conqured by the newly founded Muslim religion and from there they went on to conquer from the miidle east, africa and the south part of Spain).

The Ottoman Empire begain around 1200 AD.

It soon was able to control centeral Ankara.(took it from the byzantines in a bloody battle)

There empire slowly started growing.

Chipping away at the byzantine empire. Taking Romaina,Bulgaria,Greece

And isolating Constinople.

In 1353 they seiged constinople for the final time. The byzantine empire died when it was taken.

The otts moved the capital from Ankara to Constinople after its capture.

They begain slowly advaning across europe and the middleast.

But there main expansion did not come untill sully man the magnificnt

around 1530 A.D

Under his command they took the majority of the balkin states.

Seiged Viena(twice)

Completly conqured the black sea region.

ect.

They lasted all the way past ww1(they were allied with the Austiran-Hungarian empire and Germany)

Ottoman history is quite intersting. You should go read up on them..

There battle strats were also quite well.

:)

foolish byzantines...

fall under ottoman hand 8)

Actully they put down many rebelions

IE Vlad the Impaler(those peasents had it coming) tried to win indepence from the ottomans....

but couldn't

his cousin tossed him in jail..he escaped..retoke the thrown for a matter of weeks and died in battle.

Same was repeated many times across the empire.

But it wasnt military that they were lacking.

it was econemy. They decalred bankruptsy in 1860.

odd...that a nation lasted another 60 years after declaring bankrupsty....
