If you learn to read and write American in an American school, you can spell in American. It's simple.

And we shouldn't target Ex, even with his spelling and grammar as they are.

oh, so you're one of THEM!!!!!!!!!!  OH, AND WHAT I'M SAYING IS THAT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMERICAN AND ENGLISH, BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH ENGLISH!  Unless, by american, you mean ex's type of spelling.

I don't know what you mean by 'one of THEM!!!!!!!!!!" - but I do beleive there to be a sufficient difference between Engish and American. And therefore, I try to make it clear that you speak American, especially since you were using the fact that you go to a US school as a qualification for speaking English. You may also speak English, but few (of those that I know) bother to reconform to English.

Ex's spelling is neither 'American' nor 'English', but 'wrong' (sorry, Ex. It's not quite that bad...)

actually, if you were to look at the different accents,  you'd realize that the american accent is the slowest of them all.  maybe shortening words is like compensating.  i wish i were japanese.:-(

Unfortunately, due to the ill effects of Americanisms (aka slang) creeping across the Atlantic, the k in magick has been dropped for some time.

"We Americans tend to shorten things.  We don't seem to have the patience to right anything in full length." - I know. Look at any example of US foreign policy.

"i wish i were japanese" - I'm just glad not to be American.

You want evidence of the American accent being slow?  Just listen to Korean Rap sometime.  We had a kid at camp who was Korean and gave us an example of it, it was so fast I would say one word by the time he'de said at least 5  :-[

Nothing is wrong with being an American...unless you want to take a foreign language that you can't speak at a fast enough pace due to your American speech pattern and such.   :(

this thread has lost all relevancy...  it is now just a horrible mess of crap... i say we abandon it altogether.... and if gob would, delete the thread entirely... i still want to be japanese.....
