The Silmarillion, way to complecated it would probably have been beter if Tolkein had finished it himself though. I quite like Shakespeare actualy how can you not understand it? 1984 is brilliant (IMHO) as are all George Orwell books (that I've read).

I thought that the silmarillion was pretty good. But I still liked the Lord of the Rings series better. ;D

I'm pretty bad with old English so that put me off Shakespeare right from the get-go. On top of that there were outdated figures of speech, unusual and impractical metaphors, plus he makes numerous allusions in all his works to things that would only be relevant to that time period. I dread having to study more of his work in high school, but then again maybe my opinion will change if I see something I like.

Not necessary. It was something from a conversation on a board a long long time ago. About a time we remember from long ago, when the internet was just strickly for geeks. It had 10 websites, and they all worked ! :)Go "out" surfing for a night [ or day for that matter ] and you'll find a lot of stupid things on the net to, from pages to posts, commercials, not working sites and links, etc.Anyone remembering thess ones [ drdino.com, drtoast.com ;D or amishrakefight.org/gfy/ ::) ]

Ha ha ha... You think you've seen bad books? Obviously, none of you have read Romanian literature. Watching grass grow is more fun than reading the crap I have to read for school. :(

Imagine how interesting it is to read books about the ordinary life of an uneducated peasant family! ::) If you ever see anything written by the Romanian author Marin Preda, run like hell. Then again, I'm pretty sure none of it was translated into other languages, so the rest of the world is safe.
