Hotmail is bad, but is there anything better?

For almost a year I use hotmail for email. But I'm sick of it. Having the smallest inbox ever (2mb) and only able to send 512 kb. And all those sneaky tricks to send you more junk mail then you already get (I get about 200 a week), also because hotmail is the prime target of all junk mailers. And the service is slow etc.

Now I would like to ask this:

Is there a better mail server. A web-based one.

With a bit larger inbox (I know web-based is always small, but let say > 5mb)

Able to send larger attachments.

A better quality

Almost unknown by junk mail senders/programs

Please, before I'm mad

well, you could use the one form your internet provider.

I have 2. One is for hotmail, my junk-mail list where i get my useless crap and some other stuff i might use. I also use the one from my provider.

Precisely @sbcglobal.net

I never get junkmail there.

Same here. I use hotmail for almost everything, especially if you have to sign up somewhere. My e-mail address from my provider I use for business and close friends.

My provider is also very good (we have the same :)), but I can't check my email somewhere else then. That's the main problem, otherwise I would have choses that.

And your other Desert Eagle, how is the rest of it all?

Get the juno browser. Its easy to get. You are able to get and send as much as you want because its harddrive based instead of having to go on a website to send and recieve.

I have been with hotmail for about 3 years (I also have a prodigy account). While I would like a little more space in the box, I am very pleased with it.

I think your junk mail is the result of you signing up for too much garbage. I know I don't see but maybe 30-40 junk e-mails in a week. Maybe stay away from the porn sites or at least don't sign up for their dirty newsletters :P

The beauty of hotmail is that it is well known, easy to use, handles decent sized attachments, and can hold a lot of information. Did I mention FREE? You probably know this already but hotmail offers a service where you pay a small fee which allows you to get better protection for your inbox (I think), more space in the box, and the ability to send larger attachments. If you have the money, there's your solution, otherwise, stop signing up for porn. 8)

I tried email.com as first, but I became such a mess that I stepped over. And whenever I go there it's still very slow sometimes. Sorry...

I never sign with my email adres (except for Dune2k etc. things I trust) Mostly I sign with yourstupidifyouemailthis@yeahstupid.dum or something like that. It's mainly because I only have 6 symbols in my emailadres

I hate hotmail too, but its better than the junky piece of sh*t provided by my Internet Service Provider. On my ISP you can only have one account, so my parents share one, there is no spam filter, and there is a bug that makes it so every forward is the same as the forward you opened before it.

So I like hotmail compared to that junk. I've used hotmail for about 3 or 4 years now. I keep the junkmail filter on medium, delete maybe twenty junkmails a week total. And I can send 1026k of attachments on my account and I use the free type. But I barely get any e-mail anyhow. Now my other hotmail account where I tell most of my spammers I've made and decided to switch too...well last time I checked it I had 200 Spam mails in it.

Too bad... It's only 2mb

I'll ask some friends, they have yahoo. At least you have more space on inbox and attachments. But they are really known by junkmailers...

yahoo gives 4mb here.

I don't understand it!!! i never get junk mail on hotmail, 1 a week if lucky.

My filter is set to high, but thats it, i also made a few custom filters, and i only get the mail i want, i don't see what the problem is.

Just make custom things with things like

%

save

insurance

xxx

other xxx items

etc

Those words can make alot of different, I'll try that, thanks. But there are still reasons for me to leave hotmail

I see what you mean. I can't under stand why anybody would pay 39.99 for a email account that won't get deleted. Once again, Microsoft has failed in providing good service. >:(

I have had a Hotmail account since 1996 and let me say it was 100 000 MILLION TIMES BETTER BACK THEN!You see, MicroSoft did not always own Hotmail. In 1996, Hotmail was innocent, uncorrupted, undefiled. Then, the owners of Hotmail sold out to Bill Gates for a multi-million dollar buyout, and Hotmail slowly started going to Hell ever since. They automatically load a page full of ADS now before even taking you to your Inbox!!! WTF? That's a crime against humanity!!!! Hotmail is now nothing more than a proliferation of Adverstisements being bombarded into your face at every possible angle. Makes me sick. I remember Hotmail when it was pure and glorious. All the more reason to hate MicroSoft.Hotmail sucks now. PS: To Des Eagle - you say you never get junkmail at your provider's email? hehehehehehehehehehehehehehhehehehehehehehehehehehehehe
