Edric O
Acriku... It doesn't matter if they *want to* or not... *evil grin* We could make a bacteria or a virus that infects people, alters their genome, then dies.Nema, I'm confident that we have much longer than 5 years before that collapse. Sept 11th was only the beginning... I'd say it'll take around 20 years.
nampigai
Talking bout the genome vira thingy. It'll be possible to make vira that only kills special people like negros, asian or kaukasian people. That's rather spooky think of what hitler could have done with it. Ligic_Tha_Master
You shouldn't say "negro"...
nampigai
what then? I know some black black people they call they say that they are negros should I call them black people? Acriku
FYI "niger" is Latin for black...
nemafakei
... which entered America as a term for Afro-Carribeans via the spanish negro. We don't use 'negro' much, never have.
nampigai
jeez, I'm sorry if I offended anybody, I have many friends with different ethnical background. A "black man" or "colored man" sound more racist to me. And if people wanna think I'm racist well let them, I know I'm not, I hCan we stop it now :P
quoudam72
In conclusion the information that has been provided about the subject is true (i.e. origins) but because the words used look and sound like a particular racial slur used to refer to people of an ethnical background it can become a problem. evilbaronatreides
I dunno. It really depends on how thick your tolerance is. Some people just cannot stand any reference to slurs and get extremely offended. But others just brush it off. Personally, I don't care what you call me, just as long as you acknowledge the fact i am human.

Acriku
What sucks is most names that wouldn't ever be offensive are associated with events that hurt people. Like calling Japanese "Japs" because it was what the enemy soldiers called them during battle. People should really mellow out sometimes. Personally, I don't care what you call me, just as long as you acknowledge the fact i am human. But the reverse is what happens when people refer to another person using racial slurs. How can anyone acknowledge you as human when racial slurs are use to dehumanize you. You can use any example that you want to Native Americans and European settlers, Trans-Atlantic Slave trade, Hitler and the Jews the bottom line is that with racial slurs comes dehumanization of another person or people.
