Navaros Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 That's right. It's finally gonna happen. Not because of any of the Emperor players, either. Here I am, out of the goodness of my heart, trying to help the other Emperor players, and have a good discussion about Emperor gameplay with people who actually *play Emperor online*, and what happens for this goodness? All my threads get shuffled off to obscure strategy Forums where almost no one will ever read them. No offence to anyone, but the vast majority of users who post in the strategy forums on a regular basis have *no* idea what they are talking about at all (they have delusions of thinking they know the game because they laid a smackdown on the AI in SP). But *that* is not even the point. The point is, it is very rarely that anyone of any stature or "Emperor knowhow" posts anything in the strategy forums, or even reads them. I take my time out to do a service to the Emperor community by facilitating deep discussion about Emperor gameplay here in the Emperor main forum, and all that time ends up being wasted as my threads are moved off to the Abyss, never to be seen again.I am not knocking the Mods here, I know they are only doing what they think is right, even though the end result is that there will be hardly any discussion of Emperor at all, other than who cheated who etc. etc. So that's it. A lot of you guys get what you want. Do without my valuable public services. See if I help anyone on this board with strats that actually *work*. See if I complain about the overpowered units that need nerfing anymore. A lot of you are gonna be happy about this, because you finally get me to shut up, for the most part. But just you wait. You're gonna miss my brilliant Emperor insights. You are gonna feel empty inside. You are gonna say: "I miss my kooky ol' buddy, Nav!".The Emperor community loses out. I hope you guys will one day realize that stifling discussion about Emperor by dividing it up into tons of obscure Forums which ensures most people never see most of the discussion is the wrong way to go. When and if the Mods here come to that realization, you may have my services again. In the mean time, enjoy having an Emperor Main Discussion that serves no purpose whatsoever other than as a place to post about cheaters and where newbies ask uber-stupid questions."A House divided against itself will fall"
Acriku Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 It's sad that you actually take into effect what people say about you, but do what you must. You say it isn't because of the players, that's bs and you know it. You have a big ego, and people who say you are wrong obviously hurts your ego and you become illogical in your actions. The only thing we will miss is the fact that you gave a few that didn't take what you said seriously a good laugh. Oh well, it won't be the same without you, but then again roses wouldn't the same without their thorns. Good-bye and may you forever think your advice is brilliant, because if you don't who will?
Edric O Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 Well said Acriku.And may I add: YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! AT LAST!!! YIPEEEE!! ;D ;D ;D
DjCiD Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 I thought more along the lines of "Ding, Dong the witch is dead" ;D Missile Tanks, Kobras, and Minotaurus... Oh my!
Marcel71 Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 *Selecting all units and presses C*(the crowed cheers)
nemafakei Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 Acricku, Edric, you should both know better.I am sorry your threads have been moved, Nav (if you're still listening). However, your... different... approach to the discussion seemed to annoy some people, yet you did not change tack. Hence a lot of your input as an enthusiastic contributor has been lost.As to the multiple threads issue, that's already being discussed elsewhere, so I'll not comment on that here.
Nyarlathotep Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 Here I am, out of the goodness of my heart, trying to help the other Emperor players, and have a good discussion about Emperor gameplay with people who actually *play Emperor online*, and what happens for this goodness? All my threads get shuffled off to obscure strategy Forums where almost no one will ever read them. Nav, it's not what you say, but how you say it. I believe Frodo already mentioned this to you. Please try to grasb this simple thing. The way you state things, is like "it's this and all other opinions do not count". You can't setup a discussion with that attitude. When someone responds to something you say, you usually wave any comments away, like you're not interested to hear them. It's this attitude that caused people to treat you the way they are doing now. If you were realy willing to become someone who's opinion counts (and people willing to discuss about), you wouldn't give up the way you're doing now.Try to change the way you are behaving here and you'll see that people will change their opinion about you..
ordos45 Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 "A House divided against itself will fall"-The Bible, then later used more famously by Abraham Lincoln."Here I am, out of the goodness of my heart, trying to help the other Emperor players, and have a good discussion about Emperor gameplay with people who actually *play Emperor online*, and what happens for this goodness? All my threads get shuffled off to obscure strategy Forums where almost no one will ever read them." Umm, it is the proper forums for them. As for the large amount of forums, the survival rate for a topic would be under an hour otherwise, probably.Anyhow, sorry to hear you are stepping down from the target range, so to speak. Btw, get a reviewing job at a computer game company, you'de do good at it.
Edric O Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 "A House divided against itself will fall"Reminds me of mankind.
ordos45 Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 It sorta reminds me of the universe itself. Blackholes, supernovas, comets, asteroids, etc.
Edric O Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Well, the universe isn't alive... and besides, what could be considered "harmful" to the universe? In the case of mankind, however, we know very well what's harmful. And we do it anyway... :(
Madluxan Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Hmm... Guess I need to get my coat on when I die. Looks like Hell's gonna be pretty cold...
undsputed Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 I think we are all in trouble. Nav served a role that brought the community together (in this case, against him) ;D With him gone, who knows what will happen. Maybe when he's gone, WW will begin releasing new emperor patches....I'm sure they are monitoring these boards.Nav, go into the warcraft chat room and start complaining about some of the game's problems...I'd like to see you go into the lion's den...that would be funny. That can be your next mission, since they are still patching their game.
Frodo Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Here I am, out of the goodness of my heart, trying to help the other Emperor players, and have a good discussion about Emperor gameplay with people who actually *play Emperor online*, and what happens for this goodness? If you were realy willing to become someone who's opinion counts (and people willing to discuss about), you wouldn't give up the way you're doing now.Try to change the way you are behaving here and you'll see that people will change their opinion about you..Yes, I have tried to tell him that in some of his topics, but he never replied. I must admit though, I think that all of you should be pretty upset with yourselves. >:( Everybody has their own opinion. Nav just stated his, but you hated him for it. He went about stating his opinion in the wrong way at times though, but everybody makes mistakes, don't they? I was at one point very upset with Nav, but I got over it, just like all of you should do. But I think that you should all be ashamed of yourselves. What if everytime you tried to make a comment about Emperor, like stating a bug that caused you to loose a game, you get made fun of and pushed aside. Wouldn't it make you feel horrible. Trust me, I know this feeling, I was harrased at school when I was younger and it was horrible. I would come home and lay in my bed for hours, hating the world. But the one good thing about an internet life is this: Nobody knows who you are. You can mold how you appear on the internet, and nobody will ever know who you really are. But what Nav did is when he posted topics he tended to say them by whining or complaining. My suggestion to you Nav is this... Don't Leave, but reapper as somebody else. There are ways that you can say things, right and wrong. But Nav, posting topics like, "Why Warcraft 3 is unplayable", and "Final Requim and respects to Emperor" is going about saying things in the wrong way. "Problems with Warcraft 3", and not posting about Westwood leaving Emperor (Which has been posted about several times over), would make you appear more mature on the boards. I for one have used some of Nav's strategies at times. But Nav, what really bothered me was your posts like "For Elite Players Only", or "Will all Elite Players tell me what I am doing wrong." You could of said, "Will all people please help me to solve this problem." Nav, this is how to be liked among the boards, please, at least try.
Desert_Eagle25 Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 i am truly ashamed of my self. FOR REALZ.and Nav, if i ever said any rude comments to to, I apologize.and also good point frodo
Marcel71 Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Nav, don't listen to Frodo and leave...plz. no need for such a moron like u. >:(
Edric O Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Frodo, don't give Nav the credit he doesn't deserve. He isn't like you. His ego is the size of the entire galaxy. He thinks of himself as the most intelligent being in the forums and looks down on most of us as pathetic idiots. His arrogance knows no bounds. He will NEVER change, unless life gives him a hard slap on the face.
Frodo Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Frodo, don't give Nav the credit he doesn't deserve. He isn't like you. His ego is the size of the entire galaxy. He thinks of himself as the most intelligent being in the forums and looks down on most of us as pathetic idiots. His arrogance knows no bounds. He will NEVER change, unless life gives him a hard slap on the face. Yes, but I think that he should be forgiven and given a fresh start. Now I am not saying that I am siding with Navaros or anything. I just think that it is horrible that you have made somebody so hurt that they have decided to leave the forum. I know Nav has said some bad stuff, but haven't all of us at one point?
Marcel71 Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 "so hurt that they have decided to leave the forum."Darn how many people did HE hurt who left the forum. This guy should be condamned for life. He should be punished first to be forgiven. I forgave him once, and he mi-used it again. So no sorry for the "poor" sucker.Unless he openly says sorry to everyone he hurted and apolegizes to all the people he has cursed at (on the MB and online game). And when he says sorry, it should be humble and without ANY disrespect to other people or boosting himself. So with other words... IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.Forgiving him is forgiving Bin Laden for the attacks....
Frodo Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 i might of missed alot of it though, since i just now started visisting forums other than Dune Editing,
Acriku Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Frodo what you are doing is understating what Nav has done in his time at Fed2k. He insults people, calling them stupid or ignorant or doesn't know anything just because tey conflict his ideas. He is not a very good people person, and that's that. You can't change yourself just like that Frodo, it isn't easy, and Nav is probably like this in real life so he might never change. Sure people deserve a second chance, but Navaros used his second chance a long time ago and flushed it down with all his bs. If he does change, then goodluck to him and I hope he has a nice life. If not, then oh well he will never know how to be happy.
Frodo Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 ok, but like i said, i just started visiting forums other than Dune Editing, so I missed most of his comments.
Desert_Eagle25 Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 i'm torn between saying sorry and giving nav a chance, or just kicking his ass off these forums......times like these ::)
