OK this is kind of what the award will look like, Whistler has modified the plaque to reflect the new Tourny.

The Plaque can't be manufactured till we know the name of the winner, AND THE MAP PLAYED ON.

Here is the development of the awards-

All that will be required of the winner will be to provide me with a valid mail address. Whistler and I will take care of getting it made and shipped worldwide. I know it's not a lot (like for example a new 'Puter  ::)) but it's something to shoot for.

So - GLHF

Hey Spaz, The short answer is that they are coming, the longer answer is I don't know exactly how soon, but it won't be TOO long.

Here's why. Just like the tournament was a "learn as we go" type of thing, so are the awards. We ran into another SLIGHT setback. The artwork that is available online, mostly here from this site, while it looks cool on your monitor, is not good enough quality for Sublimation printing. This was the reason for Whistler's post a little while ago, looking for Emperor artwork. Look at this enlargement of the award and you will see what I mean-

So what Whistler decided to do was to call on his brother, who is a really good graphic artist to "Clean up" the artwork. It's kind of like Photo-shopping a picture except you're doing it to graphics instead. He is working on the Logo now and then will re-do each of the house Logo's.

So the delays are unavoidable, Whistler wants the Plaques to look really good, so in the future tournaments you are not playing for a junk award.  when he is done they WILL look great. And the plus is that we only have to do this once. From now on every tournament award will use the new artwork, so the awards will be quick to produce in the future.

Hey Guys,

Sorry about the delay but I really do want these to look nice, not like we bought them in a dollar store in Humblebody, Maine. USA.

Hope you understand, I know you'll like them.

HELLO ALL! At long last an update! I'm sorry for the delay, but it was unavoidable. We now have all the artwork done. We finally had to hire someone who was good at Photoshop to get the artwork to the quality we needed for the 3 house disks. Whistler had to do the Emperor Logo by hand and I think he did a GREAT job!

We now have run production samples and they look GREAT! So now it will be short work to get the Awards finished.

You can see the production samples here  http://picasaweb.google.com/GGRONINGER/DuneAwards#

I will let you all know when we ship the awards.

So now in the future the awards will be quick and easy to make.

With the Holidays being so hectic here, I am going to wait till early spring and then start another Tournament with whoever is interested.

                                                                      UPDATE!!!!

Hey SPAZ, and all the Dune Warriors. I just got in from the road and Whistler called and told me the awards were finished! So I walked next door to have a look. Well they just blew me away! Whistler decided to make them larger than we had originally planned. He thought the finished product would look better that way and boy was he right!! He really did a GREAT job. Sometime later this weekend I will take some shots of them and post the link to them here. Who knows, if we get drunk enough we may even have an Award Ceremony, lol. We will be shipping them this week. And once again I apologize for the delay, but it was unavoidable. As I have said before, now the hard work is done, and when I launch the next Tourny, not only will everyone be able to see exactly what the prizes will actually look like, but the time to make and ship the prizes will be MUCH shorter!

Ok, I took one quick photo, here they are-

Congratulations to Spaze & Alchemi !!
