While I don't know how many of you know who is Kazakhstan's president, or where it is. I can say that is is North of Iran. The president is Nursultan Nazarbayev. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nursultan_Nazarbayev) He has been elected for the 3rd 7 year term by 90% of the population. The importance of Kazakhstan is that it has uranium deposits, however it doesn't develop uranium. Sharing the border with Iran, it is easy to see where Iran will get the uranium. Kazakhstan is very neutral and doesn't side with US, more with Russia. So its policy in terms of Iran question is clearly he is not against it enriching uranium.

Now to the the attack or what is being interpreted as an attack.

Yesterday April 25, 2006 the Presidential limousine and the protection service vehicles left the Nazarbayev's Palace, sorry Gold House, sorry residence. The law is that the drivers supposed to give way to the president's limousine just like in North America we give way to Fire trucks, police and ambulances (Move over to the side of the road or/and do not interfere with their passage). The jeep with American adviser to American military attache did not do that. Even worse it caught up to a limousine and stirred into its direction almost ramming into it. The limousine driver was able to maneuver out from the hit. The protection service of President did not fire at the car because ti had a diplomatic license plate. However they gave it a chase and demanded to stop. The driver of jeep refused, than a police man was able to jump and hold on to a side of the vehicle. Jeep tired to shake him off by driving close to the walls of the buildings and close to the lamp posts. However policeman managed to put the American adviser's seat belt around his neck and thus persuade him to stop. The American did not leave the car until the members of American embassy arrived on the scene.

One correct - Kazakhstan doesn't share a border with Iran, not even close. Going south from the Northern Ocean, it's Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and then Iran, so there are two countries between Iran and Kazakhstan.

True about the border however the Caspian Sea still provides a good route to the Iran from Kazahstan. Also Uzbeksistan and Tajikistan announce their support for Iran's nuclear program recently.

Very interesting idea...

I dont like the idea of diplomatic immunity. Would the US special forces have held fire if another countries diplomat had got so close to Bushy ?

Well, the responses from the Kazakhs ont eh news sites and forums have  been that the presidential security should have shot at the car and than make it out as a mistake. They refer to the similiar insident in Serbia where Americans attacked Chinese diplomat's car.

Well Kazakhstan was neutral on the issue with Iran, until lately (I thing 3 days ago) when it, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan stated their support for Iran's program of enrichment of uranium. Siding with Russia doesn't mean anything in the modern world as Russia is not a super power, and has very little political power. It could try to shake its rusted nuclear fist sometimes but it quickly put back odwn in it's place. The only place Russia still has some influence is Eastern Europe and it loosing ground there fast too.

Lmao, do the US Special Forces ever hold back?

"John, that dashing squirrel is looking at me.."

"Where's the M4?"

Go ahead and joke, but they made Jimmy Carter run for cover once because a rabbit was swimming across a stream he was fishing in.

Who cares about Clinton now ?  :P

Do they still bother with him ?

Well, his wife is going to be the next President of the United States.

All former Presidents of United States have secret Service protection for the rest of their lives. It is not as heavy as the currently acting presedent's but it is there.

Are they going to rig it again ? Like they did with bushy ? I hear that Will Smith (the actor) wants to have a go.

Hehe, I had my own toe dipped in politics this May.

Class was voting for two unpopular girls for class president, like people were not going to vote. So me and my friend Clayton decided to run for Dictator and Co-dictator. We didn't make any flyers and lost, but still managed to get 62 votes.  Our slogan was "A vote for us ensures never having to vote again...for anything."
