Need advice..

Okay, Counterstrike and Brood war are getting old, I need something new to play.. However my PC isn't the fastest thing on the block anymore...

32 mb tnt navdia

128 mb ram

90 gig hard drive

FPS, RTS, RPG that I could play, please no MMORPGS or anything pay to play, I'm a cheap basterd.

If you're looking for a quiky, I suggest you try Quake 4. Pretty action-packed, but the story is pretty stale and mostly it's just shoot,shoot,shoot!

Now, Neverwinter Nights is a great game, I suggest you talk to Dante to find out more about it. And the bet thing is, you can download other-player's scenarios to play after you have finished the main campaign. or you can make your own. it's great. :) Then there's FEAR, but I haven't played it, personally.Umm...S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobylisn't out yet, but I hear it has some great idea. I suggest you read up on it. Nothing much else, now, at least that I know. :)

I figured you would have but then I read "FEAR", and as far as I know, it is one of the most advanced graphic game out there.

The main thing that will screw you over exatreides is the nvidia 32mb tnt2. I got the same thing.

I'm not sure what to recommend, but you can not go wrong with playing a bit older games that are free from The Underdogs

One game I played lots, which is available there is Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far Realtime war game :)

Anyways, search there for some game, should find some.

If i'm not mistaken, most of the staple game sys. req. right now are around a 2 gig CPU and at least a 128 or 256 ddr vid card and around 256 of RAM. Don't even attempt to play FEAR, Farcry, BF2 or DOOM with those specs. Could always play Emp. though.  ;)

I got a geforce 5500/256 for around 30 bucks,and a AMD barton 3000+ for around 60. I would try to upgrade PC a little anyway before playin those, cause it may install and play some but it will play very shitty with your specs. I played DOOM 3 with a geforce-64 mmx, and that was really only playable sometimes on the very lowest settings.

Heroes of Might & Magic series, prefably Heroes III. Or Mordor (see the Mordor thread). Or classic DooM (Ultimate DooM, DooM II, Final DooM are all you need)...

Uh I use to play 1.5 on my 555 mhz 16 mb TRI STAR video card with 80-100 fps, I can play 1.6 on this sytem and get about 65-80 fps.

Tetis? Lmao, just because I can't play some Doom game or it's qauke clones dones't mean I should spend 400 bucks upgrading my PC, so every single game that came out from ohh around 1999 to -2003 I should be able to play decently.

  Yeah, lots of good classic games.  Too bad most are hard to find now.  Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire is well worth playing, I've been playing it a lot lately.  Umm, I haul out Dune 2000 and Warcraft 2 every now an then.  And, of course, I was on a Dungeon Keeper binge a few weeks ago, also a good game.

  Also, you might want to try some of the older FPSs, like Duke Nukem 3d or Shadow Warrior.  I like those a lot.

  I can't afford MMORPGs either, but you may remember a madness for a certain MUD known as Areth a few years back.  Well, it's not terribly graphical, or hosting a large community, but its still running and quite fun.  www.areth.org

U could try..Unreal tournament2004(not on 3d mode) on software mode..is going to work perfecly..or try Escape from Monkey Island...great game :P

If you can get Syndicate Wars to work... it was truly a great game, with as much gunning as cunning. Sadly, EA bought Bullfrog and nothing came out after... :-X

The head of Syndicate was the same for Black&White (post-EA, he left), Populous, Dungeon Keeper.

I was thinking you could try Mortal Kombat.. as in the classic versions. Try to get some sound emulator or Dosbox if you want to play them properly though.

Forgot to mention that Lords of the Realm 2 is at The underdogs website. Good turn based (real time battles) game.

Damn I'm gonna download that now and play it on this old computer. :D

Depends on how your download manager works. It might very well cause you to download multiple times. Think about how Kazaa works ;)
