Maybe I was a little premature.

I notice that at the bottom of the page it says the generation of this page still takes only a fraction of a second, so I guess its nothing to do with the SMF software.

Well it has something to do with the web server I think. It might be a throttling mod that was added but I'm not sure.

Ok it should be faster, let me know if you have extended periods where the site is really slow.
