If you're American and thinking of voting third party - or if, through some unexplained phenomenon, you haven't made up your mind between Kerry and Bush yet - here's a "president selector" quiz that will show you how well you match up with the various candidates:

http://www.selectsmart.com/PRESIDENT/president.php

And here's how my views matched the presidential candidates (including all the possible Democratic nominees):

1. Cobb, David - Green Party  (90%)

2. Brown, Walt - Socialist Party  (87%)

3. Nader, Ralph - Independent  (83%)

4. Clark, Retired General Wesley K., AR - Democrat  (76%)

5. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat  (74%)

6. Kucinich, Rep. Dennis, OH - Democrat  (73%)

7. Sharpton, Reverend Al - Democrat  (72%)

8. Moseley-Braun, Former Senator Carol, IL - Democrat  (69%)

9. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat  (63%)

10. Edwards, Senator John, NC - Democrat  (63%)

11. Gephardt, Rep. Dick, MO - Democrat  (58%)

12. LaRouche, Lyndon H. Jr. - Democrat  (50%)

13. Lieberman, Senator Joe, CT - Democrat  (40%)

14. Badnarik, Michael - Libertarian  (21%)

15. Bush, President George W. - Republican  (14%)

16. Hagelin, Dr. John - Natural Law  (13%)

17. Peroutka, Michael - Constitution Party  (9%)

Now just to find out the name of that "my ideal theoretical candidate". If I were an american... ;D  However I looked at that Badnarik, and must say that if I had the choice, Bush would have a concurrence in him. Excluding his stance of Iraq of course, as I still prefer more imperialism in the name of democracy than peace in the name of oriental despots.

Your best match is a libertarian?? :O Either you should be ashamed of yourself for not living up to your conservative values, or this is additional proof that - as I always said - those filthy libertarians are nothing more than conservatives in disguise. In any case, I'm not surprised that your first choice was a man I consider to be Evil Incarnate. ;)

There are only two people on that list whom I despise more than Bush: Badnarik and Peroutka. Especially the damn-near-fascist Peroutka.

Who are Badnarik and Peroutka?

You don't want to know... ;)

But seriously, Badnarik is the Libertarian Party candidate and Peroutka is the Constitution Party candidate. Perhaps this will help:

On a related note, I can see it now: "You're too into politics when you know more about a country's elections than the people who actually live in that country." ;D

Well, I don't know about their honesty, I don't live there, so I have to believe on what they write to their sites. Badnarik is such type of fanatical liberal, trying to minimize range of government: cut taxes, erase government controls over various civilian and business things, peaceful foreign politics and end of partocratic bipolarity (what is goal of we can say all american smaller parties). He himself seems to be an immigrant, Badnarik sounds rather slavonic to me... Exactly no conservative, as such one would enforce traditional values trough government, like Bush does, don't you think, EdricO? Peroutka seems to me like a hybrid of lawyer and a Taliban warrior, as I don't know USA constitution I can't measure him how accurate is he. What I read on his site is mostly aims against Bush. He would be a perfect feudal lord, surely no one would be able to conquer his castle. However, his policy seems to be more to change US to that castle than to follow the situation.

Well, that would be about them. Tough I don't know if it was worthy to write so much for candidates, which surely have no chance against the great two...

Your evaluation is mostly correct. I would like, however, to make a note for any American readers:

Badnarik is such type of fanatical liberal...

The European term "liberal" is roughly the equivalent of the American term "libertarian" (to be more exact, American libertarians would be considered fanatical liberals in the European meaning of the word).

The American term "liberal", meanwhile, is roughly the equivalent of the European term "social democrat".

Jesus...The constitutio party is so right winged facists i almost vomit when i read their site....erg

"America needs and deserves a President who will stand against the entrenched socialism, elitism and globalism which have a stranglehold on American political power. It is clear that both major parties are committed to the agenda of the New World Order and seek to enforce economic, military and social policies which are antithetical to the interests of our independent Republic. Michael Anthony Peroutka and the Constitution Party will fight to defend America against enemies domestic and foreign and return to a Republic of self-governing states whose laws are rooted in Biblical principles. "

....Shudder

oh and something funny, go to google and type in waffles....see what the first thing is  ;D

That Paroutka is scary as hell...

Education: "Education should be free from all federal government subsidies, including vouchers, tax incentives, and loans, except with respect to veterans.

"Because the federal government has absolutely no jurisdiction concerning the education of our children, the United States Department of Education should be abolished; all federal legislation related to education should be repealed."

Environmental Policy: "We call for repeal of federal wetlands legislation and the federal Endangered Species Act. Moreover, we oppose any attempt to designate private or public property as United Nations World Heritage sites or Biosphere reserves. We call for an end to United States participation in UN programs such as UNESCO, Man and the Biosphere, and the UN Council on Sustainable Development. We oppose environmental treaties and conventions such as the Biodiversity Treaty, the Convention on Climate Control, and Agenda 21, which destroy our sovereignty and right to private property."

Yeah, except the "your ideal candidate" I got 69% Kerry. Guess that's the closest thing.

"America needs and deserves a President who will stand against the entrenched socialism, elitism and globalism which have a stranglehold on American political power. It is no surprize they mentioned the New World Order. All militia groups in the USA believe that there is an imminent takeover of the United States by the NWO, mostly believed to be United Nations. What they always fail to see is that the US is the UN, in terms of military forces.

Now, the UN doesn't seem to do much harm in any way, or in fact, they haven't harmed anything since the creation of UN. What I fear most is the PNAC, short for Project for New American Century:

Why fear it. Better Americans than China or Russians, if I were to chose one of them.

Better that the world decide together. PNAC sounds like a project for some kind of future American Empire. Sure, I support the constitution and laws and so on, but America of today is more corporations than listening to the people.

Together? That's like half of population in China and India should have bigger word? An empire ensuring personal liberties is better than pluralistic world under control of authoritative reigns.

"Who is "Your ideal theoretical candidate"? This candidate adamantly endorses all of your political views. The problem is that they may not exist, unless you write-in your own name on your ballot."

Well maybe I will!  :P
