Man, you're making me sad already, and I haven't even started A2 yet. :'(

Yep, I feel the same. It sucks thinking about it, but in a way - you are no different from the hundreds of other students also moving away to go to university. What I'm trying to say is everyone who you'll meet at uni will be in the same boat as you. Being alone and sad sucks, but being with others also feeling as sad is a hell of a lot better.

I gotta tell ya tho, you're taking all of this a hell of a lot better than that Vanguard3000 guy who posted on the Coming and Going thread - doesn't look like we're gonna hear from him in the near future. ::)

seems we'll all be separated from our friends in UNI, none of my friends are going to my uni, but i never liked them anyways, and it'll be good to meet some new people, maybe i'll meet a cute boy or share a dorm with some  ;D

I've got a year to go before Uni, but you're already making me sad as well.  You can keep in touch with friends with IM (although I realize it isn't the same).  You'll see your family on holidays, and if you ever feel the need they're probably only a phone call away.

I'm joining the Israeli army for 3 years, in which u can barely visit your home, experience very very hard trainings and can barely sleep. Right after it I'm goin to uni...

well... 150 miles aren't that much.

I left my hometown about 2 years ago after living there for 20 years and moved 850 km away. from the south part of the country to the north part... there is nearly no further distance you can move in this country... so what's the deal... you'll find new friends and be glad to see your old ones when you visit your hometown. Just don't think about it all the time and everything will be fine...

Well I am off as well, which might mean me leaving your sacred place. ("Yayyy" <-- Who said that?).

I'm off to Glasogw, might try and pop in sometime.  Dusty aint happy cos me and DK are leaving him alone!

Haha I'm in the same boat, going to Bristol uni in like 2 weeks. To be honest, although I'm a little scared cos it's a new thing and everything, I'm looking forward to it a lot. No more parents getting in the way etc.. ofc now i have to do my own washing :(

Urge to make dodgy comment regarding exactly why Dustie would prefer jail over compulsory military service... RISING...

;D

Respect others' "personal lives/preferences", you little... :D

Sorry DK can't contribute to the fund.  I kind of have my own university bills here, heh.  Work about 3 days a week, 12 hour shifts, then school rest of the week.  Good luck, try to buy used books  (it's cheaper), and don't be scared to confront your teachers.
