well its too bad that all the corruption in the OG`s comitee is not about participation but winning.I think its over shadows the meaning of the games.

They made one of our Gymnasts change his routine he had done at the world championship because it was no longer 'merit enough'.  When did they tell him?  48 hours before he went on.

Loved the opening ceremony, and the events I've been able to catch however.

Just wondering, why don't they test every single athlete for drugs instead of just randomly picking some for testing and then check out the other athletes a few years later and then give their medals to the actual winners then?

Because by testing every single athlete you will have 3/4 of the athletes gone?

The Olympics should have honest players, that's why they test them. Wheter they are gone or not is the participants own choice, and if he or she has taken any dopes, then he/she has her/himself to blame.

Then the honest players suffer.

Congrats to Romania with the team gymnastics. That was quite spectacular, though I thought Australia and China deserved better. As did Russia.

Thanks for the congratulations...

We've got bronze at team men, silver at some apparatus men.

Gold and silver gymnastic women.

Two gold medals at kaiac and canoe.

There was an incident that happened at boxing. Our boxer, Marian Simion, almost knocked out the american boxer. But when the romanian hit the american, the american would receive points instead. I heard that the discontent of the spectators paused the game for about 20 minutes. Eventually the american won, of course. It's sad that some sportsmen HAVE to win... I heard that at gymnastic some russian of ukrainean got the same treatment as our guy, and the spectators did the same... but it did'n matter.

Wonder what harsh punishment(ala communist style, though Russia isn't) awaits the athletes of Russia and China if they fail to reach their targets... :O If those eastern bloc countries are still communist, they would have performed better, because they will be forced to.

Did anyone see the Womens Triathalon?  Some finish by the Austria to win with 20 metres to go.  She was 3 minutes behind the leader going in to the 10K run and won.  If she has done it legitematly then well done to her.

So, what do you mean about the US boxer getting points when the Romanian boxer hit him? How is the event scored? How did the judges score? I really can't see the judges so obviously and flagrantly scoring points willy-nilly. Especially with the pressure on them not to screw up.

Serble starred yesterday. King of athletes again...  Also I've seen that battle between Isinbajeva and Feofanova in jumps, which ended with world record. I thought that Feofanova will kill her  ;D

Anyone else think that Alexei Nemov (gymnastics) was unfairly penalised? He did an awesome display and then made one itty mistake on the landing...

I thought Nemov did as good a job as Paul Hamm; and the scores should have been about equal, though I believe the man who won the gold medal -- Italy? -- certainly deserved it.

Canada owned at the olympics. ;D

If not we will definitly own at Vancouver winter olympics 2010.

You will all freeze from the cold weather.

Back in the day I used to have to walk 2 km to school through snow fields.

Hehehe. Well I walk 15 minutes to school most days through snow and cold weather.

Mmm winter.

Seems that Canada smuggled in another big flag to the closing ceremonies.

Anyone see that Irish guy try to take out the marathon person?

Guess that 2 billion on security didnt work. Just like when the canadian guy jumped in a pool. ::)

Obviosly when people start to criticize crap like that as a fault in security, they need their heads checked.

The closing ceremony was quite spectacular, and the Chinese display was most impressive. Still, I think I prefered the opening display.

Muahah, we beat you, Denmark and Sweden!

Finland also, but they were so bad I'm not sure they're even comparable :P
