Well, here it is, PRP's political poll! It's not meant to prove anything or support any point of view. It's only here to give us some information on the tendencies within our community. :)

I'm guessing mixed economy is the closest thing to democracy? (canada & U.S.)

Canada and the US are mixed economy.

However, "democracy" encompasses many different systems. Communism, Socialism and the Mixed Economy are always democratic, and capitalism can also be democratic (although undemocratic capitalism is possible as well).

I vote socialism, but I'm not communist :D ! The pink force, the rose in fact ! Communism brings good ideas, but I'm not agree with the last communist regims ! It's an utopia, and the utopia is impossible !

I hope you do realize that saying "it's an utopia because it's impossible, and it's impossible because it's an utopia" constitutes a circular argument.

Also, those "communist regimes" were not communist at all. STALINISM IS NOT COMMUNISM.

I feel the urge to write yet again the whole explanation for that, but on second thought, perhaps we should talk about this over IM. There are already enough discussions about communism and I don't want to start another one (especially since I've already explained the differences between stalinism and communism on the forums a thousand times over).

Well I've nipped in as the only autocrat, as usual.

...So far. ;D  Ordinarily I'd go for oligarchy but something about putting it in the same category as theocracy... I thought it would cause more problems that I'd have to explain. Meh, too late now.

Are you angry at us because you are the only communist so far, and you feel we are stupid?

Wheres Philosophocracy???  But seriously, I am with Dustie on the Autocracy, either that or a dictator with me in charge......... now who wouldn't like to be a dictator in charge of a country?  Especially America, thats why you have to admire Bush!

Mixed economy <evolves> Socialism <evolves> Communism seems to be the most likely course the world will take. However, it begins with the mixed economy, and thus, I have voted.

Am I the only person who voted for fascism? Damn.

Why do you believe in fascism exactly? Is it just a joke or you believe in a corporation-state mergence?

I'm a SOCIALIST.  I say this because although I despise capitalism like the Plague, Communism simply can't work.  Not in this day and age.  Not with humanity the way it is today.  Myabe in the distant future, however, it would be a good choice.  Just not today.

BUT, when it becomes a viable option, Communism.  Pure Communism would be a perfect utopia, no one can deny that (except maybe emprworm).

Of course communism couldn't work RIGHT NOW, Duke. That's why communists want to move from capitalism to socialism, and then we wish to advance to communism only after socialism has run its course.

Should have just put all the political systems from Civilization 2

then chose what is the best one from that game.

(forgot fundamentalism, which is what I would choose after democracy. I hate the unhappy people.)

I should have voted "other". I am effectively for a mixed economy, but it has nothing to do with having liberal and socialist elements together. It has to do with countering the big boys to have a better capitalism where you can't use your size to crush smaller competitors. It also has to do with puting out politics or anything irrelevant to economics (big boyism included).

Some would call it meritocracy, but I believe it is not about merit but production. You get what you produce. Productocracy. THIS would be the most productive.

Some may argue it may still not be a perfect system. The aspect would be about looking to which extent we should give to someone (to eat, consume, etc.) if it is less productive. This is the other question in all this. But it isn't the question I tried to solve here.

Well, I am rather unsure here. Government should be chosen by elitist way, in ideal form by all, but it should be made of those best, not of model of nation. However, it should be only a grant to liberty in economy and other parts of individual life.

Yes, Advocate, I may have been mistaken. I thought I recalled you declaring that George W. Bush was a dictator of some kind, but I may have misinterpreted you or mistook someone else's words for yours. I apologize.
