I thought of somthing today that might help emp become more popular, there just isnt enough ppl online nowadays.

I was just thinking that if dune2k could collect some donations from emp plyers or just genorous members then maybe we could put some ads for online emp on some websites.

I dont really have any idea how much ads would cost on popular sites really but if we could get one on penny arcade or somthing like that then that would be really good for emp popularity...

I would play more but I kinda suck so it's not much fun.

It doesn't matter if you're not good at it. Just have fun and learn from losses...

I'm looking for a new copy, since I gave my one to Olaf. I don't think it should take that long to find another copy :)

Well, due to complaints from the Fed2k members (or at least part of it), EA worked on the WOL servers and brought them back up.

Who knows, if we'd buggered them enough, they might consider (if they already are, even quicker) to re-release EBFD world wide...

No is what you have, yes is what you may get ;)

I think dozies idea is great, but doesnt any1 know how much it would costs?

It will only work if the game would still be widely available. Otherwise if new players are interested, but can't get the game anywhere, they won't bother..

And be honest, on how many fan sites (cause that's where the advertisements would be) do you react on adds you see ? If you're thinking about advertising on company sites, you may be in for a surprise considering the price for advertising on them.

I'd think it would attract more people to play if the game would be re-released in some clasic package (browsing for some cheaper games is done by many)..

Hmm, Well you could do ad trading with other websites, I don't mean big companies or anything (cause they are evil and cost $$$)

If you could find another fan based site or something, and if they agreed to put the emperor/fed2k ad on their site, and gob were to put there ad on this site it could be a win-win situation for both people. (more network connections)

Another good idea might be to get some players back. You could organize a tournament and post it on other game forums. I remember when we organized the Landsraad EBFD tournament, several new users signed up, as well as some "retired" players came back. Remember, IF you do this, you need to make it known on other game forums as well.

Another thig could be to ask EA to let it be known that we organize a tourney. It might enable them to re-think their re-release and put 1 and 1 together ;)

A good suggestion.....

I think I might re-install Emperor....

The main reason I dont find the game very fun is because I would get on and get matched up againts like Vilgent or doompower or some other elite and after getting my ass whooped majorly a few times I just gave up....it was no fun anylonger....

But perhaps if I practice enough I could get pretty good.....

We will see, I think im gonna re-install and go on for a few games....

How about we find wherever those unsold hidden copies of Emperor are being stored, buy them real cheap, and then sell them from FED2K at a profit?

Spreading Emperor, AND making money...
