im just loving this. i programmed an in-game macro for star wars galaxies that lets someone powergame their character while AFK and made up an HTML guide for it. Put it up for sale on ebay and have been making a constant supply of cash! rofl! I put up "100" for sale to start, and have sold 11 of them already. I'm loving this.

as soon as the auction is over, I put up another.

I'm doing a Management Information System (MIS) report on it. Nothing fancy just 20 lines or so.

Sell lots of junk on it like stuff you find in a garage or barn. People like buying junk. ;)

absolutely NOTHING wrong with selling a guide for a game on ebay.

oh, and btw: i sold a total of 21 of those guides! Put up another 10 day auction for another round, raised the price to 8.95 and have since sold 5 more. yay! :D

I don't see a Sony/Lucasarts seal of Approval on your macro so I believe it is wrong for you to make money off of a product that you did not help create. I find it intersting that you mention that this macro may fail to work in the next patch release when Sony "decides to disable it in the next big patch". Sounds to me that they don't approve of people stealing from them like you seem to be. I contacted Sony about this issue and the representitive mentioned that they are aware of this problem and have people at ebay to work this issue. I would hate to see you fined for such a petty crime. I think you should stop gloating about your illegal fund raising activities in a public forum. You might want to delete that item for sale on ebay as well before you get caught.

Heh, the irony of the situation is that Emprworm is breaking the inherently capitalist law of copyright.

If you were living in socialism, Emprworm, it would be perfectly legal to sell those macros. Unfortunetaly for you, however, you're living in capitalism.

Edit: Took out the reference to communism, because there is no such thing as money in communism. In socialism, however, it would indeed be possible for Emprworm to make money this way, after the game developers have been properly rewarded for their work.

Selling "extra" files is one thing. Using them when you're not supposed to (and without the consent of the other players) is something different.
