Coolest Dune Technology

This is just a question for you Dune lovers out there. What is your favorite technology? It can be your favorite because it looks or does cool stuff, or just for it's usefulness. Or you can list them by their uses.

Mine would have to be the Dictatle, it is an extremely neat devise. I wish I could have it. Also the ridulan crystal books with it. The idea of having thousands of sheets of paper at your disposal within a small slim book. Then writing with a thought instead of having to write manually. This would solve a lot of my lazy problems.lol

also the Solido projector. I have always wanted to see in true 3d holographic stuff. stupid, but its true.lol

now of course these are by far not the most important inventions ever. Most of them were made by Tio Holtzman (ibrahim if you agree with me). Those are the phases of his holtzman wave theory. those that made the shields, the generators for foldspace, and suspensors. These hold as probably the most important inventions in history. I just listed the two above because they are fanciful and neat. no real important reason.hehe

I don't think I'd get use out of the dictatel if I had one. All of my journal entries would be filled with things like "mmm... boobies" and "me want money now".

Anyway, I've always thought the Hunter-Seekers were really cool. It would be a pretty gruesome death by one of those things. The chairdogs were pretty neat, too, although I don't think I could bring myself to sit in one of them.

Fogwood. Because I'm totally utterly 100 percent bone bastard idle and I really couldn't be bothered to lift a finger to carve wood.

I would also probably drink about 10 gallons of sapho a day. Cause then I could think of the most annoying/most witty/most intelligent/most scathing things to say in every circumstance.

And to married to either and Honoured Matre or an Imprinter.

Yeah, I'm kinda thinking about what my dictatel journals would be like - every other thought would probably be "oh crap did i just think that out loud!"

Altho when you think about it, hook up most average guys to a dictatel and you automatically have a fast and efficient way of producing millions upon millions of porn stories. Say I think I have something there!

And if you do it with acid-heads, you get abstract literature! like a brave new world.

Ok, I will be flamed by all you die-hard Dune fans.

My preferred Dune technologies are:

1. wierd modules

2. training robot

3. heart plugs

4. pain amplifiers

And more generally, as you already have guessed, if it's in Lynch movie then it's cool. Being cool is being in the movie, being interesting is being in the books.

Some technologies in the books seem paradoxical.

Because of worms-shield-laser interaction it's difficult to decide if laser is the weakest or the most powerful weapon.

Also the main application of no-tech is no-prescience.

So no-prescience is a technology. You can see the no-ship, but you can't prescient it. If you could'nt see it but only prescient it then it would'nt be stealth.

Actually TMA, pain amplifiers were Frank's idea. It's how Piter de Vries killed Wanna Yueh. It's like the only mention of them in the entire series tho.....
