First of all, STOP sending me IMs, this is not an issue that should be treated in private, this is a concern about the freedom on this PRP forum, therefore I will act public. So you Edrico replied because you had to give your reasons, how about the right of others to reply/answer. It is intolerance in its highest expression. Stop acting like a judge and pretending tell people what should post and how should post. What you have done since I started visiting this forum is precisely what you critize now. About your swastica issue with the US map, it was not 3 years ago but less. The point is that no one of the mods at that time even locked your thread, I remember that that image was public for quite a time. Those were times of more tolerance. Now that you have to power to let us read / write just what you want you have made this entire PRP forum a shame. Since you are staying as mod in PRP then I have no more interest in participating here. Rules have changed. I am leaving. I couldn't find a way to delete this account. Please delete it.

Fixing Canada (I'm now a permanent resident)
zamboe replied to emprworm's topic in Politics, Religion, & Philosophy
The former USSR have separated it's states in a pacific way with no referendums and with people inside/outside in favor/against it. I don't see much a problem with the separation. However it would be very odd see a country (Canada) with a country in the middle of it. -
WOW. That's really something. And I thought my trip from Florida to Maine was something. I was wrong. In case you go to nashville, take a look at the Wild Horse Saloon, it's a must see even if you don't like country. I wonder what car will you use for that trip, you could put a pic of that piece of machine.

Really, why cities are to be avoided?, maybe some cities, but all of them? What is wrong, do english people change too much in cities? Most likely I would live in the dorms (at the University campus), any opinion about them? How about english girls? :D
-
Canada?, I would have liked go there for a long time too. About emprworm I think it would be better to contact him, once Bush has left the white house... ;)

No matter how much I disagree with his administration, I would not agree on that shirt, let alone buy it.

I might move to England for quite long time

There is no such thing as YOUR definition or MINE definition. When it comes economics there is just ONE definition. Wealth is not an absolute term, by definition it is not. Inflation and deflation are concepts that we might use in this topic, but to be more accurate we should also use ( i hope you know the meaning ) of interest rates, exchange rates, taxes, etc. Nice try, but won't work. Throwing more wealth into the system WILL DO CLOSE the gap between rich and poor. In fact that is the main objective of a rational government, as a part of their social policy is TO DO that. By puting the money on better access to education to poor people, to better social security and so on, those things in the short and long run have a positive impact in the gap. I should remember that quote. WOW. Just check the inflation that those countries have experienced in the same period, not a single year of any of them have eved had negative inflation. I wonder if you know what it really means, and if you know who in the bottom line is responsable of the inflation control. A communist statment that I will argue no more. To put in simple terms for you EdricO: WEALTH IS CREATED AND IT'S VALUE IS MEASURED IN MONEY. Nothing else.
-
"wealth is created, ,but value (money) is not". When I read statments like this, I just can't help to feel insulted by Edric0. Can you tell difference (do you know) between wealth, value and money? Do you really know that some of them are just qualitative concepts and other quantitative concepts? Haven't you been told that you can't compare apples to oranges? Your example is one of many examples out there that intends to confuse people. I will now answer with another twisted example like yours (in fact your example is not even valid in a closed economy case), I will answer with facts: In the past 10-15 years countries such as South Korea, Irland, Finland have created more wealth than in their previous 50 years, and their buying power - MONEY - have increased significantly for their population. I pressume you will answer with a statment indicating that some other people in the world have lost money because of them...... then feel free to go and accuse them for the poverty in Africa. LOL. Get your facts straigh before posting things like that, you might confuse other people.

I've watched it. Terrible yes, but unfortunately true. Apart from the initial shock after watching it, I haven't changed my point of view at all.

Gob, this a public request ;-) it's time that PR&P has a poll. The capitalism vs socialism never ending debate between the same people, repeating the same reasons all over again and again and again. So, why not make a pool and see what the members think about it? (hope it will cool down the endless debates)
-
"renegade societies"..... if that isn't discrimination, what is it?. Taking your own example as if it would be a valid one, I could point out that those "separate societies" ended up being the only ones who actually remains, given the fact that there are not a single communist society actually. People have wisely choosen the system they want to live in. The fact that they are poor, has very little to do with the political organization.

Even tough I have nothing to do with this issue, I feel like answering this post: 1.Fair enough. 2.Asking someone to believe your opinion just based on your past behavior is not a correct approch Nema. I would have same reasons to believe both sides. 3. At this point, after all the problems that the landsraad has created (on which I have my personal *experience*) I think that is not longer good to have it, specially if the topics treated on that selected forum are basically the same things that could be considered in a open forum. Keeping things like the current situation is just a good way to prove that the landsraad is really something else.

I'd love to know what happened to have Nema mad. Really.

Gob, it seems that you'll have to make the right decision again. I hope its soon.
