First at all the IE comments. It's absurd that after all those year no other browser has come close to security (or enterprise configuration) features that have been standard to IE in version 6. (to get this straight, a pop-up blocker and add-blockers are hardly integrated browser security features) Now to the point. On Windows I use IE9. It just happens that Mac is not the only platform Adobe can't create good content for as the IE64-bit version of flash seems to be completely missing from the minds of Adobe resulting in the fact that websites work just as well as my iPhone as it does at a desktop. It's just luck that most important sites have made the switch to HTML5 by now. I tend fall back to FireFox from time to time. On Mac's I exclusively use Opera (please do elaborate on why it can just-sod-off). I have personal reasons not to use a Google related browser (ever, or however good it is) and I tend to stick with products I like. In my case that started with Opera 5 and I never really had a good reason to change.

What hardware are you going to buy in 2010?

Give it the benefit of the doubt and see if you get used to it in a couple of weeks. :-) -
Both the flash support and support for tethering the device with a BlackBerry phone are great advantages over the iPad I recon. I haven't seen an official price indication yet though. Will be interesting to see some real footage of the device and see how it handles.

That would also have been my guess. Then it won't be the first time a technician changed one setting and unintentionally adjusted another one. So the fixed IP should not matter, then maybe something else that also change or was corrected did improve the service. :) You probably never know for sure.

yep, it's number 6 or so now for Nikita remakes? Still the original French film is the only one you should watch...

Well, must admit I kinda like it. (am I the only one here...) The mobile version is great, although the colors are a bit boring and the avatars aren't what you expect.

Don't get your hopes up. After that it's going downhill, and fast. Only work here, finished a couple of big projects and managed to take a few short city-trips in the weekend.

Don't forget to tell us where you live so we can keep an eye on your home while you are gone...

Well, not exactly. MAC adressen only apply to a local network and are used for switching. The moment the data passes through a router (any cable or DSL router) it's about your IP. No one sees your MAC or can find your computer based on your MAC address.@Mahdi It's not just about your IP. Most ISP have a reverse DNS lookup name for your host that does not change. Even if your IP changes this rDNS name stays the same. For an example you can visit www.showmyip.com and notice your IP changes from time to time. The host name stays the same. Not all ISP's have the same policy about this. So it's possible the rDNS name never changes, with other providers it does. If you IP changed you can simply ping the dns name from any computer and find out your new IP. Now let's assume your IP and rDNS name do change. Your ISP or any authority for that matter will have absolutely no problem identifying your computer either with a static or an dynamic IP. Your ISP has logfiles that will outlive prints of the Bible. A resent example is Voltage's claim. The owners of those anonymous IP's already have the claim in their mailbox. If you are concerned that other websites / forums can identify you by your new static IP. They can also do that by simply checking your browser. The biggest setback from a static IP will be that ones blocked with someone, they will have you blocked for a long time. Then you can always use a proxy server to bypass that. Finding out your name, address, house and such is not possible (well, it is but not for anyone on this forum or for most websites). The closest they can get is find our your general geographical location, ISP and nearest large town with some luck.

I know what you mean. Magnanni It is. I am to bored myself to even do it. So at one place I have a small switch connecting the router, a couple of home servers and two access-points. Where I am now I just have one AirPort. Everything else, even the printer is wireless. -
I'll have a look at it in the morning. Curently I am half an hour away from home after a 1600km + drive and are planning to go out until 6 in the mornig. So when my head is back again I'll see what I can find. :-)

New phone... [img width=400 height=300]http://picturez.game-heaven.com/iPhone/iPhone%204-3.jpg -
I think you know how it's gonna end from just in the first dream. When Ariadne and Cobb have a private chat. Between that and the end I couldn't help thinking myself your just watching a guy dream (how exiting can this be) and one of the best film concepts in a long time. In the end it was just over two hours and I enjoyed ever minute of it. In the end they went from 3 to four deep and you still didn't know who's dream you where in and for how long.

something like that ;) -
To bad Vek. Although I don't really care about soccer a final between Germany and The Netherlands would have been great :)
-
Non of both.... Did I mention this was in the last minute of a 30 minute extension and the score was 1-1 ?
-
Vek, think we both know that if the final is between The Netherlands and Germany hell will break lose in both countries. No matter who wins.
-
Well, after has been doing well. It's gonna be a very bad optimistic week here I suppose. Overly enthusiastic supporters and not to forget a couple of bickers in my street next Sunday. If history has learned us anything, just when winning actually becomes possible. We lose horribly. Would be nice if they prove otherwise this time. :)

Well, let's just say the head-of-IT doesn't really walks through the checkout stands when he takes stuff from the warehouse. If you would order it on NewEgg the body, two lenses and filters retail for somewhere over 1000 Euro. -

Well, for four years now yours truly works with one of the largest photo retailers in this small country. (don't worry, I manage all the IT stuff. From local workstations, VoIP, POS systems to the feeds we have to our suppliers and webshops) And while I never had much with photography I thought after all those years it was time to buy into it. Below the result. [img width=300 height=400]http://picturez.game-heaven.com/pentax/pentax2.jpg [img width=400 height=300]http://picturez.game-heaven.com/pentax/pentax4.jpg
