razorox, War3 takes no micro at all. you are confusing "struggling with a clunky interface" with "micro" - a common misconception.

example: having to shift-click then CTRL +[NUM] *every single unit you ever build* just to make him attack (otherwise he follows around your Hero and never attacks, ever ::) ) this is the kind of BS that newbies confuse with "micro". that is not micro --- that is struggling with a horrendous interface.

Emp requires 100 000 000% more micro than War3. in Emp, the actual units require micro to be effective. in War3, the only micro required is to endlessly press TAB + [insert spell hotkey of your choice here]. ROFL. gee, that's real hard. TAB + one letter key, constantly, until either your army wins or the enemy does.

in early games of War3, there is more micro needed for the Hero, but at that point, the one other form of micro in WarCraft 3 is not present since there are no casters. in late game, your Hero will be lost amongst WarCraft 3's trademark "indistinguishable jumbled mess of pixels" which occur during almost any mid-large sized battle - so therefore trying to micro a Hero at that point is pointless, still leaving just one form of micro at any given time.

any way you slice it, War3 only involves one very simplistic form of micro at any given time. unlike Emperor, which requires a diverse spectrum of micro to be done simultaneously.

razorox - you knew Emp was a dead game for ages, and you know Emp will *always* be a dead game. EA or Westwood are never gonna bring it back to life. therefore, you know there would not be any developments. btw in case you didn't know, EA murdered the WOL Ladders so there are no real Ladders anymore.

I wasn't sure whether to post this in most pathetic player or this thread..

Ok me and an ally play on fishers plane with QM setts except fog, crates and living world. Our opponents: Act333 and Bonelipus. A few minutes into the game and we are soundly annihilating them. In response Bonelipus feels the urge to prove the size of his penis and begins to taunt both myself and my ally calling us losers despite his crippled position of having 5 NIABS in his base destroying all the buildings he still had left. He then quit. I rehosted and he started pagin abuse to me demanding he join his game because he'd show how he was actually such a big man. So I joined only to find him playing ATR with guild on 30K setts on fishers plain. "30K!" I laughed at him. He said that only n00bs play my setts (QM) and that this would show me how much better he was than me. Needless to say I quit while laughing hysterically at his absurd stupidity.

PS: The above are not his actual words. His actual words were at times hard to understand and often involved words that I daren't repeat here with the shadow of Gob overcast upon me...

it's 90% SHEER DUMB LUCK that determines the Winner in War3. that is why War3 is a babyish POS and Emperor is King (except Emperor sucks because it's a dead game). that is also a main reason why War3 is so popular compared to Emperor - War3 appeals directly to the Babyish Kid Market (the same one who get their jollies out of playing WindWaker ROFL) and to keep them happy, *anyone* can Win on a regular basis in War3 since Winning is not a matter of skill.

I wish I met more players like you on B.net, Nav.

If you suck at Warcraft3 is because of your poor micromanagement skill, WHICH determinates the winner in War3. If you loose at a game dont say that its crap.

I like Emperor, but I often loose.

And BTW, with the actual balance in Ebfd the winner is determinated by the nubumers of minos, mongooses, Airdrones and fremen on the battlefield. Nothing else.And of course you are an Atreides player, no doubt ;D

Finally the Warcraft3 target arent childs, unlike Generals.

oh boy, this is all going too far...

every game has it's strenghts and weaknesses, Emperor is good, strategical and well balanced... so is warcraft 3 in it's own way.

There's no need for convincing each other as it won't work anyway.... believe me.

There's one point though where i do agree to Navaros and that is that Warcraft 3 is too comical, it is not serious at all, I think that was a bit a of a letdown to me, even though did like war3 a lot.

However Ive not said that War3 is better than Ebfd.

I like them both. But War3 is made by Blizzard. And this means quality, patches, support and many things that EA should learn.

Ebfd in the hands of Blizzard Entertainment would have been the greatest RTS of all times. But its EA.

Ok today I played against mega noob z12345zzz. He ask for 1 on 1 and I denied cause I wonted 2 vs 2. So it was 2 minutes laterz then I said ok. He was talking crap to. Anyway.

We were both hark, fisher, 10k, all off. I had 10 saws 15 inf, 10 rocket guys, and 5 sards. So I started to move my men at his base case he had 1 saw and 10 or so men. At halfway when my units are to his base he just quits. ???

Host another game and page him asking why he quit. He goes u were gonna rush and I was not prepared. So I say whatever dont talk crap and ask me to 1 on 1 anymore.

Then he blows up talking all kinds of crap when I am talking to a bud and he wont stop. I say a few things and then just ignore him.
