Fed2k Awards: Suggestions (Remade)

State improvements for Fed2k awards.

(And no, I'm not planning on making a Fedk Awards Three anytime soon).

first thing, a REAL STAFF needs to make the thread and all the categories. ie: Gob, Mahdi

even threads like this that discuss it, should be made by a REAL staff.

second thing, no stupid, irrelevant, pointless categories that have nothing to do with fed2k: ie:, fave car, fave food, amd or intel, fave game etc. etc. --- all that is nonsense that clutters up what otherwise might have been a decent thread.

third thing, a mod should be the only one who makes the "Rules" of the Awards, not an average member

I don't know why but each time Gob says something funny I am reminded of the old TMNT cartoon and that Rat guy saying "I made a funny" I don't know why but I do... ^-^

EDIT- or as Nav has pointed out the movie I thought he said that in the cartoon or was it the turtles that said he made a funny... I don't remeber... and I'm probably going to regret admitting I remember those things... I should stop talking now...

that was not from the cartoon, it was from the original movie. that's the only place Splinter ever said that. (then in part II, the Secret of the Ooze, he says "I made another funny!", although sadly, in the third movie he disappoints everyone and speaks no variation of that line at any point :-)

btw, last time i gave loweezee the "fed2k's most heinous spammer Award", but it was actually a 7-way tie with kingmega, vigilvirus[devil's advocate], dev_mech, desert_eagle, ethan, and emprworm

i'm sure loweezee would be qualified to win that Award again in the future, although he may have to share it again as he has some heavy competition from the others who tied with him last time.

I think the best way to improve is to limit the voters to choices instead of opinions

Now see, I actually thought about that before making Fed2k Awards One...But there are a few issues.

It wouldn't be fair considered people would be left out..

Firstly,you should make only good points so as not to

"discriminate" others.

We just had an awards thread, there's no need to make another one after just a few days as things haven't changed alot, perhaps a thread every 3 months or so but not every 3 days.

well, the categories might not have been superb, but from what i remember, you made your OWN supid categories, and awarded yourself with all the nonsense awards. It is because of people like you, that fed2k awards erupt into flame wars

How about monthly FED2K awards where someone will get the title of "Most Popular member of the month of June" or something like that.

And once a decision is made,no more shit shall be piled on it. >:(

My thoughts:

It's better if you made it once in the several months. A year may be too much, but then you can be sure that things are shifted.

Doing the awards with the same members everytime makes it boring.

And Navaros and lowzeewee were right about dropping the favorite food and etc.

You should also specify what you mean with certain catogories. Like when you say: Who is the best member? Then specify best in what, like helping, or arguing for example.

And make sure you haven't double catogories. Like: Kindest member and member who behaves best. (Well, it isn't exact the same, but it has alot in common)

And don't have too many catogories. Too many rewards make the current rewards less worth

I agree with Timenn and Flameweaver.

This one went over ok but could use some improvements. I think if nav is gonna go doing what he did this time he should be excluded from the event.

Pretty much what flameweaver and timenn said last sum up my thoughts.
