Strange Sandworm

I found a pretty nice looking interpretation of a sandworm. Im not sure if its a dune sandworm though. It very unique.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

very good picture! I love it, just always pictured it as a shipworm type look with pincers. to dig through the sand and all. Probably this picture is accurate though, since all they do is suck in sand and sift through it for food.

It says he's a designer(a drawer) who worked for 20th Century Fox, Universal, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, Sony and other companies. It also says he has designed in many big hollywood movies science fiction movies like Independence Day, Goodzilla and The Time Machine.

I am no wizard with German language, but I couldn't see anything about the picture on the page or anything about Dune.

its one of my favorite interpretations of the worm, even the purple "flames" in the mouth. The only thing missing is the teeth (crykives)

I really don't like that second, drooling worm. Either it's not based on Dune, or the artist didn't pay much attention to the books. Drool? A tongue? Bah!

The tongue is not good.

The 'drool' could well simply be sand, or perhaps sand mixed with reactants within the worm's maw.

I could just about accept that this might be a decent picture of worms after the Scattering and death of Leto II.

Hmm maybe that one worm with the purple and no theeth was just avery unluck worm and now each of the fremen have a new Crys-knife ^-^

I still think it is a carved out (with crysknife, probably) sietch. Those fremen are dangerously close to the mouth of the sandworm, and don't appear to be running, so I have to assume the worm is still, and for that to happen it must not be 1) living, or 2) a worm.

Or the teeth are too small to see - remember a sandworm could eat a harvester whole - and a harvester was much bigger than even a large vehicle.

The fremen may be ready to mount the worm.
