Minos vs ordos tanks

The reason why Deviators are so effective at taking over slow heavy units like the Minotaurus, Kobra, and Devastator, is that it has fairly heavy shielding, as opposed to the Laser Tank, which has only light shielding. It's the heavy shielding that allows the Deviator to keep moving at full speed and get the shot that takes over the enemy unit, in. However when the shields are down, the Deviator will die easily, due to its' slow speed, and the fact that it slows down even more when damaged.

If a Deviator was as weak as a Laser Tank, the Minotaurus would probably be able to destroy it before it could take a shot at the Mino, since the Deviator is fairly slow. The shielding prevents the Deviator from slowing down, and prevents the Minotaurus from physically damaging the Deviator (where the Deviator is most vulnerable, because it's weak and it slows down even more when physically damaged). 4 accurate shots (1 salvo) from a Minotaurus, will destroy a Laser Tank, both units having no chevrons. The Laser Tank can counter this with its' agility and speed. The Deviator however, is not as fast as the Laser Tank, and can't dodge Minotaurus shells, so it must rely on shields to sustain splash damage in order to get close.

With minotaurus's firepower it can seriously damage a deviator in a single salvo if the the minotaurus's accuracy was better and the reaction time was better.

And what has the accuracy of the deviator do with if the minotaurus was capable of destroying a deviator or not? ??? Usually the mino is capable of dishing out the whole salvo before be deviated

I've tried, the mino was stationary and I sneaked 3 fredaykins to attack them and it worked without casaulties...

That's most likely because the minotaurus cannot actually fire at objects that are very close to it, due to where its guns are positioned on the XBF.

There are only 2 situations in which a minotaur can't shoot at close range (right next to it)

1. It is coming out of the factory and you're blocking it long enough to be destroyed before it is 'active.'

2. Pathfinding, it sometimes happenes when a unit is in front of it or right next to it and it somehow can't shoot close.
