The man who will forge the 21st century

I wonder who will be this centuries Gavrillo Princep?

Will we even notice him during his time?

Will he be another poor peasant boy who, through one small action, determine the course of the next 100 years?

Or will he be a Descartes or Bacon who changes the world through idea's?

Will he be the spark in this middle eastern war? Will he be the spark in a WW3?

Has he already come and gone and we haven't even noticed yet?

yeah that is totally true. The great ones are those who are usually unknown at the beginning. Sometimes they are looked upon as lunatics or heretics as they live. A prophet is never welcomed in his own town. Not until time passes do we recognize people like that. good point mahdi.

that will be how he appears. out of the blue he will come as a messanger of peace. Helping humankind. The wolf in sheep's clothing. but I think mahdi means people like einstien and stuff.

Good point, Mahdi. I hope these people help define the 21st century as a good century. So far, it hasn't been too good, though. Personally, I prefer a Bacon or Descartes to a Princep (I learned about him as "Princips" though).

well, the fact that people who forged new standards are often heretics is true. However do keep in mind that in these times, religion is less important, and people are "more" open to new things. Ofcourse there are still a lot of people who just can't accept something they don't know, and seems wrong to them. For instance gay people. Not overall accepted, and rejected by most religions, is a new thing, that came with the 20th centure. But we did accept it, cuz people hold on less to religion, and more to science/logics

The whole world stands poised on the brink of war... All-out war. :(

I predict that this century will spark something known as a "World Civil War" - a great number of small, local wars, all over the world and all at the same time.

The man who will forge the 21st century will be the one who will end this chaos.

Let NO ONE do it! Our era has found, what is good. And if someone tries to negate it and build his own world, then everyone wise should counter him. Slow, natural progress is best we can do. This world needs no revolution - just peace, love and order.

And currently, we have none of those.

Second thought, the man who would forge the new century (provided you mean a good way), would be the man who convinces the world to give the UN the power it's supposed to have.

It might even be a woman....nah thats impossible

You know, I was thinking why everyone seems to at once assume they'll be male. I see no problem with a female world-changer.

Or it might even be a homosexual

The world will be changed by the one you least suspect, hehe ;D ::)

Thats kinda what I meant by this thread. Whoever expected Princep to change the world?

He was an anarchist, not nationalist. Also it wasn't him, who changed this world. It was whole silly politics of Germany and Habsburgs. They were losing tempo in progress comparing to France and Britain, so they had decided war is only way to stop them. Emperor Franz Joseph changed much more then one killer, altough he wanted everything to remain same as it was in 1850's.
