Music has alot of meaning to me. Have you ever listened to a song and heard the lyrics and thought to yourself, "Boy thats true" or "hey i can relate to that" or it like matches to a situation you are in. For me I have songs for differnt people that are important to me and I try to find a song that reminds me of them. For this one girl I would die to go out with ,songs like "In The End" by Linkin Park for the bad memories of frustration and sadness and "Wherever you will go" by The Calling for the good of just thinking of her. I listen to them and sorta can relate to the lyrics. I think its all too freaky how some lyrics are so dead on that its scary. I find lots of people I know express them selfs with music. My question to you people is. Do you have a specific song for something and what is it. So post your song and situation here, might it be a happy time in your life that reminds you of something, or a song that reminds you of that special someone and explain what it means to you and how it makes you feel, quotes of lyrics would be cool in posts to help people understand how it relates. Some people are gonna think that is is sorta corny but I want to know if other people too have songs that mean more to them than just for entertainment. So go at it........

Example post:

"She Fuckin hates me" by Puddle of Mudd

This song reminds me of a bad breakup i had. My ex literally hates me now so when i hear this i think of that. The lyrics are all too true....

You know there is a gourp of Belgiam schoolgirls who made a parody on it. Changed she into he. Think there are a few MP3's out there of it. It's pretty good. :)

I think music has some effect on us that we don't yet know about. Something to do with the fact that neuron pulses sound like music when lowevered a few (!) octaves.

Whether this is true or not, it has a profound effect on people. I read the Dune novels to one particular CD my sister played, which was very good. Now whenever I listen to it or read the books I want the 'other half' as well.

On the subject, I've been told that there is a difference between Enya and enYa. Anyone know more?

I have that feeling with some Sting track as well.

Like this one time when I was at this party my friend bet me to ask this one girl out that i sorta liked. I got real close to doing it but then I chickened out. Right after that "Lose Yourself" by Eminem came on. The words played and I thought that Eminems words are all too right in this situation. "Lose yourself in the music the moment you better never let it go, you only get one shot do not miss your chance to go, this opertunity comes once in a lifetime!" Then after the party my friend comes up to me and sais that he talked to her and she wanted to dance and hang out with me. So then I felt even worse. Now when i hear that song i think of the time when i had the chance but lost it because i was too chicken to go for it. Thats a powerful song to me.

Altough Rammstein is still alive.

Hope they will be for quite some time ;)

But then, children who are listening to "satanistic" groups and start action, well let's say weird. Is not just the fault of the music they are listening to. When they are at the stage where they accept other peoples judgment as their own, and especially the real satanistic groups out there. They are allready not ok anymore. And they will take advise from any persone offering them a solution. The groups aren't the guilty ones, the persone had to get in a state of mind where he or she accept the idea's of that group as his own. And to get to that stage, somthing else had to be wrong, in almost all cases not related to the musical gourp in question.

edit: Like Merilyn Manson ones stated, look at us, at how we live, how we act. Do you think any sain persone would even take serious anything we say, let alone life like that ?

Yeah I totally agree. People who listen to a song where it sais for example "Kill people with a chainsaw and eat there fu***in guts" and take it seriously have serious mental problems. Normal people dont take it seriously. Parents who dont let there children listen to parental advisory music are just over protective. Unless they have a fu**ed up kid that they think would take the lyrics seriously. Point is, Normal, sain people dont go off and actually take heavy lyrics seriously.

K i like finch, muddle of mudd, the vines (something like that), the white stripes , offspring, greenday, rammstein, and Dave mathews band I can relate to most of them, except rammstein I have just liked them since I was 9. I really can relate to offspring and puddle of mudd.

ok, for music it has to be NIRVANA, all the new "punk" and stuff doesnt compare (and blows; or maybe they just replay the songs until you want to kill it) to nirvana..they had the power of music. I listened to them in grade 6 and on..Most of their songs is imprinted into my head and sometimes i start to sing them for no reason. kinda like flashbacks your supposed to get from acid(LSD) i guess.

oh and neil young is good. ;D (seriously) :)

Music means everything to me. Everything.

Somtimes it's a lyric.. Stellar by Incubus, Army of Two by Dum Dums, Living in your Letters by Dashboard Confessional, Jumper by Third Eye Blind.

Sometimes it's the whole song, the whole feeling of it, the lyrics the music the *everything* of it.. Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World...

Sometimes it the bassline.. often it's the bassline, being a bassist, you know... Queens of the Stone Age have that, Kyuss, Pearl Jam.

Songs I lay back to and listen, and close my eyes, the songs that hurt when you hear them and the songs that make me smile.

For every occasion in my life, there's a song. From the classics (Sinatra, Lennon) to the pop (Robbie, Kelly Osbourne) to Nirvana to the Stone Roses to Led Zeppelin. Truely I would die if it was taken away.

The age old question "which sense would you lose if you had to choose?" i would lose any other sense before my hearing. I would die.

Jimmy Eat World ~ The Middle is one song where the words mean a lot to me, I swear every time I go to see them Jim is singing it to me and only me.

Incubus tend to get it right a lot too. Brandon has obviously been where I have been as far as feelings go...

I should stop ... dont get me started further! heheh.

Teehee Rammstein is satanic music? Read the translations of the songs, very deep and ambiguous. But they aren't lovey and smootchy, they are a hard rock band, or metal if you want to go that far, and fricking rules! I have two of their cds, hope to get Mutter soon.

"She Fuckin hates me" by Puddle of Mudd

a friend of mine is good friends with puddle of mudd(went to school with 'em)

anywho...

i agree, there are many bands that have songs that deal with the "real world" i suppose....

examples:

"girls and boys" -Good Charlotte

chorus: "Girls don't like boys. Girls like cars and money. Boys will laugh at girls when they're not funny."

"lifestyles of the rich & famous" -Good Charlotte

main part: "I'd like to see them spend a week living life out on the street i don't think they would survive. if they could spend a day or two walking in someone else's shoes i think they would stumble and they would fall. they would fall. life styles of the rich and famous they're always complaining. always complaining if money is such a problem well they got mansions think we should rob them did you know when you were famous you could kill your wife and there was no such thing as 25 to life as long as you got the cash to pay for cochran and did you know if you were caught and you were smoking crack mcdonald's wouldnt' even want to take you back you could always just run for mayor of D.C."

"Hold On"-Good Charlotte

main part: "this world, this world is cold but you dont'. you don't have to go youre feeling sad youre feeling lonely and no one seems to care your mother's gone and your father hits you this pain you cannot bare but we all bleed the same way as you do we all have the same things to go through hold on..if you feel like letting go hold on... it get's better than you know your days you say they're way too long and your nights you can't sleep at all and your not sure what you're looking for but you don't want to no more and your not sure what you're waiting for but you don't want to no more."

"emotionless" -Good Charlotte

"Hey dad i'm writing to you not to tell you that i still hate you just to ask you how you feel and how we feel apart how this fell apart are you happy out there in this great wide world? do you think about your sons? do you miss your little girl? when you lay your head down how do you sleep at night? do you even wonder if we're alright? we're alright we're alright it's been a long hard road without you by my side why were'nt you there all those nights that we cried you broke my mother's heart. you broke your children for life it's not OK but we're alright i remember the days you were a hero in my eyes but those are just a long lost memory of mine i spent so many years learning how to survive. now i am writing just to let you know i am still alive the days i spent so cold. so hungry. were full of hate i was so angry the scars run deep inside this tatooed body there's things i'll take to my grave but i'm OK i'm OK."

these songs all tell about real life... i think they are good examples of "the power of music"

as if to emphasise my point i was just downloading some tab off the internet and i found "hear you me" by jimmy eat world and had a play through and my whole body has gone goosebumps.

its just the most beautiful song. if you don't have this song.. download it, buy it, hear it. it's worth it.

There's no one in town who i know

you gave us someplace to go

i never said thank you for that

thought i might get one more chance

what would you think of me now?

so lucky

so strong

so proud

never said thank you for that

now i'll never have a chance

may angels lead you in

hear you me my friends

on sleepless roads the sleepless go

may angels lead you in

if you were with me tonight

i'd sing to you just one more time

a song for a heart so big god wouldn't let it live

it just.. it makes me feel alive.

I speak german, Acriku. It isn't so rude like i.e. KISS (Knights in Satan's service ;) ), but best is too not translate them. Also I know german churches - catholics same as protestants - condemned nearly all their albums (instead of Mutter, because in that one they are attacking interruption; altough some texts like Rein-Raus aren't very deep too, or Ich Will sounds like it is sung by Satan's prophet) because of anti-christian and hateful thoughts in them.
