We are the official E:BFD message board, and the Herbert Partnership breifly considered making the Duniverse boards the official Dune messageboard, but legal issues quashed that pretty quickly.

this might sound pathetic but that actually scared the shit outta me. if we lost you, you might have gotten replaced by a more liberal admin instead of promoting one of the current staff. and you're one of the most 'lenient' admins i know so it makes it a lot easier to post and more fun too. at the xenosaga forums you can't curse or they remove it for inappropriate language. :-

Dunno. Where I ahd archived all my old e-mails was delted one time, so that e-mail is lost. I'm pretty sure Anderson didn't go into details anyway. Like Is aid, it was only breifly considered.

I'd guess there would be no replacement at all, from within FED2k or from without, and the site would go the way of the dodo. Personally, I'm betting that when Gob decides it's time to move on, the site will be closed, maybe left up as an archive, but not updated.

Just so you all know, I'm not speaking with any insider information here. Any of your guess's about what would happen are as good as mine.

There are only a few things that will cause me to leave this site:

1. Gob is no longer admin, and the new admin is a jerk.

2. The community here becomes so appalling that I can't stand it and I'm forced to leave due to their attitude. Ineffective moderators would also have a part to play in this.

3. I lose my internet connection, and can't gain access to the net one way or another (in that case I wouldn't actually 'leave', I'll just be unable to visit and post here).

Obviously, if the site is shutdown or ceases to exist for whatever reason, we'll all be forced to leave (or to be more precise, we won't even exist anymore, as far as membership is concerned). ::)

That's a possibility, but what do you do with ten dead admins? Sell them to bad sites who will do anything for an admin, even a dead one? Well, these aren't te sixties anymore. You can't just unload dead admins over the internet and blame it on the hippies.
