Nav, I'm not exactly sure how the polling system works here but I don't think "stacking the votes" can happen at FED2K. Gob mentioned he doesn't like banning by IP address when he banned cable, and I doubt the polling system would work that way. So unless someone has multiple accounts they shouldn't be able to vote more than once.

i am of the opinion that cable2ghz/gunwounds will try to take revenge on me by any ways possible, including by having his FEW "clan" mates sabotage the poll by any means necessary, including by having people use fake accounts with which to cast votes. if that's easier for him than to tell them how to hack it, it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if that's what he's done

well i'm just gonna put you on my ignore list. it's too much effort to try and proof a point to you. to be honest it's getting old and lame. you say the same things over and over again. and aside from that it seems i don't even have a reason to. you'll be gone soon unless you yourself start hacking the poll and add votes to doing nothing, which i doubt is possible so don't even try.

sorry ace about all the flames to nav. it's just really hard to stay calm. but like you said it'd be better just to put him on my ignore list for like a week or something while he's being judged. it's just that whenever i see a post by nav when he's on my ignore list i do wonder what he is saying b/c i wonder who he is insulting or if he's somehow bashing me, a friend of mine, or FEW.

official confimation of this would be most welcome. though even if Gob does this, i doubt he has time to cross-reference every IP

on top of that, the very next day after cable2ghz/gunwounds was banned on the WW boards, he came back and started a ton of threads after he was banned, such as "F*** YOU GOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and explained in such threads how he could get around any ban by manipulating IPs. he subsequentely came back after that, while still banned, and posted with different accounts. what i am trying to say is, i am sure that cable2ghz/gunwounds is quite capable of sabotaging this poll since ultimately it's just a matter of manipulating IP addresses, and he certainly has the motivation for doing so as well as the opportunity

i know that frodo. my point was simply that it is not an accurate reflection of what they think because the numbers are likely to be incorrect based on sabotage

well i'm pretty sure that gob does have to screen people when they join. and to vote more than once they'd have to make new accounts. and even if he didn't check each individual IP i think he'd be a little curious that a lot of people joined on the day that the poll went up. he'd probably look into it and then those people would get in trouble.

There's no way he could "guess" that passwords of like eight different people, who were all in clans with hundreds of points. There's just no way. I can see one, MAYBE two passwords guessed in his entire life, but he had like 7 of them in one stretch. People are not that stupid with their passwords. Everyone knows not to have "123" or "password" as their actual password. But there ARE programs that get the passwords FOR you. They go through large databases of common words, trying each one. They're called brute force password hackers. I know this since my account on another forum was hacked and I researched how I could protect myself from such things. Always make your passwords a combo of letters AND numbers.

Exactly how do you *KNOW* cable guessed those 7 or 8 people's nicknames? You seem very sure of yourself. Did you help him? Did he tell you the passwords? Did you test them out? I don't know how many times I've told you this but it isn't sticking for some reason. I want to know why that is. Please IM me with your response.

I do not know navaors in any way.

But not everyone is ment to be liked by everyone for what ever reason. Ok he might have been band many times and you think he could of have been able to learn by now.

Ok if not... should he be given some kind of licence with like 12 points on it depending on the grade of what ever he has done wrong the licence gets a point taken off it and GOB desides on the point value, of the point taken from his licence. If this action is taken the licence should renewedevery 12 months back to its 12 points again. ( If he lasts that long? nah only joking Navaors please don't take it to heart) :-*

Myself I think it is a more far way then from being band all together, for people that have been band before, to get a second to redeem himself!! But it is going to have to be a team effete to make everyone happy

you can not "guess" anyone's WOL PW - thats the dumbest thing i've ever heard. of course all hobbtz will flock together and make up any malarky imaginable to try to defend an undefendable crime like cable2ghz's hacking. he must have even had a separate hackng tool to change all those guys' passwords since WW does not allow you to change your default password and cable2ghz/gunwounds changed all the passwords to things that Westwood would never issue with it's random PW generator

I don't know about the other accounts or even if Cable hacked them but I know thoxen's password was something like 12345... I'm guessing that Cable either found that out by somehow getting thoxen to give it to him or by simply guessing it. I talked to Chris Rubyor and he disabled the account as far as I know. I don't think you can choose your password on WOL anymore and they are now auto-generated when you create a new account?

I don't usually ban by IP because it doesn't allow people to read the forum anymore. Cable was the exception as he kept coming back and registering new accounts. For awhile I used an approval system as some other banned people were doing the same thing. Right now I just watch the new registrations and check their IP's it isn't very hard or time consuming.

As for the poll only members can vote and you can only vote once. If I really wanted I could check the ID's of everyone who voted but I don't think that is necessary.

As for letting Nav come back again I did it because Nav *can* be a nice guy, why he has problems getting along with people is beyond me. He may not be the nicest person around but there are lots of people I could ban for what they have posted.

Nav is different then the other people who are currently permenantely banned. Cable was allowed to come back and went crazy and I also don't really trust him. Krazyhorse posted porn which is definately not something I want to see here. When it came to Nav all he ever did was piss people off. Granted that is not a good thing either as is shown by the poll totals but if he can turn himself around I would much rather seen him stay around then be permanently banned.

I know people probably don't like the decision but in the grand scheme of things letting Nav come back again doesn't destroy the boards as long as he can act like the rest of us. He will be on a short leash and hopefully can learn from what everyone has said, I would rather help him then just ban him forever.
