If the Human Kind survives the New crisises upcoming in the new century, What would you wish to be or have?

Super Power's (Ability to fly, Destroy things with Ki or other's Laser eyes, Ability to cloak. etc etc )

Or have a Supreme branch of High technology "ordos" for example. ::)

or do you want the Human race a bit like the Atreides or Harkonnen.

Many choices ;D

In 100 years those things won't even be considered super, but existing at the time. One thing: I would like to live forever, with the option of killing myself - so as not to go insane.

But if we all get Super Power's like living forever (Dont think that is impossible unless if your frozen inside a Chunk of ice) or Longer. Or Power's that we dont even need spaceships to travel in space. Then Future would be cool.

What can happen?? We can survive crisises but what with another option?

Where would you like to live, on Caladan without some lands or on Arrakis?

`Cos in the future Mother Nature (Khurupira??) may do our planet with sand if we won`t stop destroying forrest or if we won`t stop pollution the Greenhouse effect will make world =waterworld

Ok, I'm serious now. So far I see 4 paths:

1. Terrorism degenerates into WW3. Those humans who will still be alive in 100 years' time will be living in a new sort of dark ages... (most likely future, I'm afraid)

2. Computers evolve with amazing speed. Soon we develop super-AIs with a higher intelligence than us. Thinking robots are used in everything, but the Earth becomes a polluted wasteland. As usual when faced with a crisis, humans start killing each other. Then the few survivors start worshipping the thinking machines as gods.

3. Biological tech (cloning and other) develops to the point where we lose our humanity. Babies will be custom-made according to the latest fashion. We'll "improve" nature's design for the human body until we don't even look human. But all the new DNA that gets created is very helpful to bacteria or viruses that can absorb it. Sooner or later (by accident or not) a killer disease decimates the human population. It's very likely that this will be the result of a bacteriological war.

4. Humans actually act smart for a change... We invest heavily in space exploration. As our first orbital colonies flourish, more are created. The human species not only survives, but manages to spread throughout the Solar System in a few centuries. We terraform Mars and maybe even Venus. In 300 years' time we are on our way to Alpha Centauri.

Well, I think the Terrorist's war will likely break into a "We hate America" War. Turkey's Moslims, Even some of the buddhist's hate America. Hmmmmm i wonder...... ::)

America is a small little node on the network of hate. Palestine vs Israel, China Japan Vietnam Korea all in a ball, etc. And Edric, are you always this depressing? No offence, but that's a grim future.

My theory is that we will resort to a military law government, with people with growing imaginary feelings that they should have all rights it would be impossible to not, and science will become the foundation for everything. Money will corrupt all, but we will come up with a system more advanced and efficient. And we shall all start to claim everything in the Universe ours.

I wonder if America survives it. They easily beaten the "Taliban" ( They f*cked up Afghanistan real good with their goverment. Destroyed homes of Innocent people and caused more Poorness in the country )

Most likly what will happen in the future in my openion is that.

1.We atack north Korea. North korea gets there butt kicked but asks china for aid. China agrees there for putting china and her allies(mongollia,Veitnam,Laos,Cambodia) at war with us. The other middleastern nations(iraq,iran,syria,jorden,pakistan) will decalre war on us(nato,un,israle) there for throwing all the world in another world war. Thermonucular wepons have the possibility of being tossed around as well as chem and biological weapons. Manny millions will die in this war. Soon after the war somthing bad will happen in africa and or south america that would toss them into the war.

If we aviod this. We should all be fine and dandy for another week before somthing else happens. Thats why i am spending all my cash on coffee ;)

I don't hope I'll have to make that choice, but I'll go where ever my heart tells me too, and if the scenario is like the 2ww I would join some partisan group or enlist in the british army.

I understand why the German would follow Hitler they had just suffered a humiliating defeat and had to pay nearly all expeses of 1ww. So they saw Hitler as a man of action who would lead them out of their misery, wich he did, but only to lead them into a new. Still the view the Nazis had on other people is horrible so I would gladly had sacrificed my life in the battle against them, and I'm greatefull of the men and wome who did so.

Like any good Ordos, I would run away and hide in an unpopulated area. I'm simply to cowardly to fight. But I would *cheer* for the side closest to my heart, though. ;D

I'd like to have the guts to go and fight for freedom, but I know very well that I don't... :-/
