The best way to use devastators is indeed in defence,

and to use the adv. carryall to take them into attack.

Yah , use the adv. carryall and drop it in the other players base where its poorly defended and  you take there base out much easier.

The speed makes up for its armour and firepower. Unfortunately, it cripples it in quite a few situations.

Nema's got a point, though the Devastator is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally  

slow. It makes it up for it's armor and firepower, and THAT is what the Harkonne like.

Yah and the self destruct( I call the death switch) is a powerful weapon(I once blow up 2 refineries and a barraks.) ;D

The selfdestruct in Emp is not as powerful as a devastator in DII popping its clogs...

In Dune II the reactor of the Deva always collapsed if it was destroyed, quite irritating ;D

If you self destruct with a Deva, And your in a Middle of a Infantry squad. Only a few dies and a few living inf units get promotion for some dumb reason.

God, Whoever did the idea's for the new units. And Remake's must be a real Dune hater. The Harkonnen units are so darn disadvantagous.

Harks have weapons strong against anything.  Lots of their vehicals are also very well-armored.  It's just their units are too slow and and lack range.

Mino sucks when exposed to the Harkonnen units. For example the Assault tank and Missile tank.

Although i have to admit the Mino is more better then the Inkvine. If the Inkvine fired projectile's just like the Mino did. It would be a kick ass unit.
