Mr_Hangman Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 If you put them in a line and do a formation move (hold j then give the move command) that might stop them from destroying eachother. I haven't tried it yet though.
House_Corrino Posted February 23, 2002 Posted February 23, 2002 Sonics can kill nearly any unit with a "perfect strike."
Ligic_Tha_Master Posted February 23, 2002 Posted February 23, 2002 Use sonics from different directions.
House_Corrino Posted February 23, 2002 Posted February 23, 2002 Can sonics take the place of minos on attacks? I've never tried it. Prety much all they do is sacrifice range to gain power, lots of it.
Dezertfish Posted February 27, 2002 Posted February 27, 2002 no, minos are still important for their range, armor, and decent firepower. plus sonics can not attack from behind something and have bad armor. Though once I used a single sonic and two repair vehicle to destroy an all Tleilaxu attack, it worked well.
House_Corrino Posted February 27, 2002 Posted February 27, 2002 Sonics have the armor of an inkvine (I've tested this) and are very powerful. Minos are easier to use however. Minos have more range and armor.
Black_Emperor Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 im pretty sure that everyone else here agrees that minos are NOT has hard to use as sonic tanks...even if the sonics suck in armor
Timenn Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 Mino's are not easy, try a rush and the worm will swallow them all...
jacobdouds Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 Very slow, very powerful against on coming units. Best for defence minos will be. Use the forks. Sonic tanks also good for defence.
Gunseng_Harkonnen Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 But sonic tanks are best in attack than minos. They are killing faster
Terror Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 they also die faster..... and can hardly be combined with other units....
Black_Emperor Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Sonic Tanks are horrible in groups and easy to destroy when its alone, so why build them for their price when you can have a fedykin for cheaper and it can stealth
gunner154 Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 if u check WW's site you'll notice the description of Sonic Tanks. they mention that it is difficult to use to some players.
quoudam72 Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Most people want to have a large number of units, using too many sonic tanks could be detrimental to your attacking/gaurding force. Sonic tanks when used should be used in stationary guard/attack positions where your fellow units will be out of the sonic tanks line/field of fire. Mainly when using sonic tanks remember that you can destroy your own units as well as the enemies.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 I use the Sonic tank for Kamikaze runs, Like when the enemy is attacking me with mino's or some other slow units. I just rush with one single sonic to them and destroy as many units as possible.
Terror Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 i use same strat as sardine kirov... kill till like there's no tomorrow... and if they get the luck of becoming elite i may spare their live.... (sounds harkonnen eh :-D)
jacobdouds Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 My units are hardly ever attacked by worms. But in the rear chance that they are I use Fedaykin to draw them away.
Black_Emperor Posted March 9, 2002 Posted March 9, 2002 in my opinion, you should use a maker unit to follow all heavy slow units so that they dont get eaten. EX: (Devestator, Minitous, Harvester)
Sardauker-Kirov Posted March 9, 2002 Posted March 9, 2002 Unless if the Great Vertical worm comes. Isnt that right Timenn ;D
Terror Posted March 10, 2002 Posted March 10, 2002 theoretically they do..... though i sometimes do see makers get eaten by worms... dunno if the makers were actually the worms target... but they did get eaten
jacobdouds Posted March 10, 2002 Posted March 10, 2002 I guess even worm repelent in a can doesn't repel timenn and his smart worms.
Terror Posted March 10, 2002 Posted March 10, 2002 heheh.... oh well..... i don't like makers any way.. the infantry killing bitches
jacobdouds Posted March 10, 2002 Posted March 10, 2002 Who ever new Makers were pregnant dogs. But why are they called makers, the sandworms are makers, not the Guildsmen?
