chatfsh
Hey, if the makeup artists could make Liv look like an elf, they could surely make her look Fremen, whereas no amount of makeup will make you a better actor.
MrFlibble
I think Liv's female elf Forgot-her-name is too much syrupy...
Dunenewt
I'd much prefer Summer Glau.

mawdryn
I don't doubt it will probably be the biggest let-down in history, but I guess I'm just the eternal optimist ;D
Dante
The miniseries was good. There's a possibility that the movie will be better. The biggest let down has been the new books, I'm not sure anything could supplant them. Touch wood. SandChigger
Torchwood, you say? Yes, that would come rather close....
Dante
I liked Torchwood. :PIt had its bad spots, but even they were nothing beside the vile sputum of the Dune prequels.
MrFlibble
Torchwood is some weird sci-fi/conspiracy theory TV show, right? I think I've seen an episode or two.

Anathema
I'm definitely going to see the new movie, if it ever comes out.My first hope is that it's going to be a decent movie on it's own. I've recomended to several of my friends that they read Dune and lended out my copy more than once, but nobody actually bothers to read it. It would probably be much easier to get people to see a movie, after wich I can always recommend the book.My second hope is that it stays reasonably close to the book, though I realize that a lot will have to be cut. The miniseries was okay in that respect, allthough it also added some irrelevant and unnecessary subplots. So far, I've never had the chance to discuss Dune with someone in real life despite the fact that it's supposedly the best-selling SF novel in history.
