The one post an hour thread

What about The Simpsons? I strongly believe this is the only reason to watch TV.

It was one of the reasons to watch tv, but the last 6 years it has gone downhill. I prefer watching the old episodes that I grew up with (early to mid 1990s).

I don't watch any tv... but I watch us and uk tv-series. my favourites right now are "lost" and "prison break" (I also have about 10 ended series and another 15 running series I watch regularly. I watched all episodes "lost" about 2 weeks ago... from thursday till sunday - from season 1 episode 1 to season 3 episode 6... it rocks. watch it from the beginning erjin and you'll like it. the characters, the mysteries, the island itself...

We have digressed, and forgotten the principles of this thread. Heh, now it's about television programmes?

Well, no, I don't watch television these days. I prefer my computer anyday :P

gunner: guess where I watch the tv series...  ;)

most of the shows don't even air in germany. and if they do, they are lousy dubbed. I prefer those series in english. especially lost: so many different accents. very cool. desmond's accent kicks ass, claire's however wants me to see her dying finally (sad ethan didn't kill her).

Yeah, I've watched a few programmes dubbed in German and it just made me cringe.  Although the films aren't usually so bad.  I went to see Inside Man when I was in Aachen, and the voices suited the characters, and the actors they were portraying, quite well.

I never watched it in german, just in english. but I have seen other movies with denzel washington's "german voice" and it wasn't pleasure. great movie by the way... :)

usually most movie dubbings suck, too. it's also a known fact that you often can't express certain phrases in another language (jokes based on words or words that sound similar or other stuff like that). but actually I don't care anymore... I watch almost everything in english. I can't even remember the last time I watched a german dubbed movie. I just buy the movies or rent the dvd and 99% of all german dvds also come with the original soundtrack.

I haven't seen it. is it good?

I saw them about 5 or 6 years ago after the 3rd album "mutter"... it was an amazing show. even if you don't like the music, the show rocks (and I did like the music too, so it was really awesome).

I just love Rammstein. And it's not only because everybody else I know hates them.

They were the only reason I actually cared to pay attention to German class. ( And learned quite a bit of German!

When on a school trip to Berlin, I managed to buy a coke. And later a coffee at Starbuck's! )

rammstein are very cool guys. though some of their lyrics are just provoking, some of them are really great and metaphoric.

I'm not gonna debate about this. but the statement is not right either in my opinion. because you can't compare bands from complete different genres. you can compare beatles with stones or doors or something like this. but you can't compare abba with rammstein. or beatles with korn. or marilyn manson with dido... so in my opinion there are many good bands, singers, djs and producers out there and I like too many different styles of music to ever say about somebody "he/she/they is/are the best"  :)

Well, this thread failed pretty soon in the 1 post per hour thing, so it is being put to good use in other ways...recycled, if you like ;).

veK, my life is so unfairly busy that I couldn't possibly watch one evening of TV without interruptions.

Ohhh, "interruptions" in evening tv... Sounds kinky.

My tv watching is never interrupted. :(

But I don't have kids either...

mine too, that's also why I don't watch the tv shows on television (besides the fact that most of them aren't available in germany or if they are, are dubbed german  :'( )

so from time to time I just make a big session and watch about half of a season, maybe even a whole season e.g. I watched all 22 episodes of the first season of prison break at a weekend (friday nighty and saturday)...

well I have plenty of stuff to watch...

last weekend I watched "24" - season 2 & 3 (yes... 2x24 episodes, I know I'm, crazy)

tonight I will probably finish season 4 and start season 5 tomorrow maybe. season 6 has just started and by the end of jan and the beginning of feb some other stuff like "heroes", "lost", "prion break" & co continues...

I'm sure it is even better if you watch it all at once.

that's why I do it with "24" . it's a lot better watching it all at once or at least in one weekend...

I guess I won't watch the new season 6 until every episode has been aired.
