U.K RESIDENTS! Please Read!

Alright, I have come to the conclusion that I should put the College search into gear already. I have been looking for schools in different countries, and I was hoping that some members of Fed2K would have some suggestions of Colleges in the United Kingdom. I'm thinking of majoring in Culinary Arts. Also, is there any Colleges in Essex?

You'll have to be more specific than that, you dirty foreigner. ;) There's an important difference between college and university here. I'll assume you meant university, and go wandering about the pamphlets we've got lying around on campus. Later. When it isn't 5am. Also... why Essex?

I'm not a UK person, but where I'm from we have a very good culinary college on PEI, Canada. They now offer a degree as well.

Sorry about that. Yes, I meant University. As for Essex, My aunt and Uncle and several other members of my Family live there. So, I would not be alone in a strange, hostile country.  ;)

Yes there is a university in Essex, it's near Colchester. If you want a good guide to universities try www.ucas.com it has loads of information on universities and their respective courses.

I am in the uk, went to uni, but cannot for the life of me rememebr which ones are good and which ones are not. Sorry.  ???

It's true.  I've been to Southampton.  Come fall, their biggest attraction is a subay restauraunt.  Although, they're not as good as Mr. Sub....

'Course, in the summer you do got the beach....

Just in case it's of interest there are apparently a very high standard of catering and commis chef courses at Hilderstone College which is near Margate in Thanet, Kent. They apparently have a high reputation and you can do an apprenticeship locally or try for one of the big London hotels or restaurants as part of their placement programme. Best of luck!
