To be quite honest.. Halo and Halo 2 are the only real reasons i think anyone really puchased an XBOX... well Mortal Kombat was ok too i guess.

Or either they just hate sony or would rather back the American console.

oh crap, we all know the Xbox controller sucked.lol actually people would argue with me on that, but I know so many gamers who hate the xbox controller, even when it was made smaller. The first controller for xbox though? It was almost as bad as the Jaguar controller. crap it was bulky and stupid. Not only this but the white and black buttons were so strangely placed that you would have to move your thumb away from the main four buttons in order to use them. Not only this but you couldnt wrap your hands around it, it was silly. sorry just had to rant about it.lol

I didnt say graphics are the main feature of a game.... i agree that emperor is a classic and gameplay is nice.... but emperor is a RTS which is a MULTIPLAYER GAME WHERE YOU CAN ENJOY TACTICS.

Described me, but maybe not for the same reasons.

Just to add this to the thread regarding the "secret" controller.

Anyone got any ideas what it could look like?

Pinched from neowin.net

The highly secret, and apparently revolutionary controller, for the Revolution has been seen by some third party developers according to Nintendo of America sales vice president Reggie Fils-Aime. When speaking to US magazine EGM Mr Fils-Aime revealed little snippets of information about the controller that Nintendo is so keen to hide from its competitors.

Whilst talking about the controller he said "If you just think about it, we're going to have the ability through wireless internet to download all your great games from NES, SNES, N64". Fils-Aime further explained what he was saying.

"Think about it - each of those controllers are different. How are you gonna play? That captured some of the imagination of what our controller needs to be able to do, and certainly as you get into the meat of that type of innovation with the developers, their eyes truly light up because they start to imagine what's possible with that kind of configuration, which is vastly different than a sheer horsepower kind of game."

While the mind boggles as to what that might mean, it is expected a large announcement will be made in August, a month that for the past two years Nintendo have made big announcements in. Hopefully this will give gamers an idea of what exactly is in store for them in 2006.

At least they are trying something different.

But it just sounds wierd holding a remote and having to move it around.

It's like back when NES came out and people were moving the controller up and down whenever they wanted mario to jump when they pressed the A button.

I like it.  I think that it will be easy to use and intuative.  Go to gamespot and look at their coverage on the controller.  They actually got to use it (more then what can be said about Sony) and for me, I think the best part will be when FPS are released on it.  Simply beautiful!

So far I am not a huge console fan. i have never owned one, primarily because I like strategy games more than any other games. But I have played on Nintendo, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, Playstation 2 and XBOX.

So far I am not hugely impressed by the playstation 2. My friend tells me that it has the best games. But IMO XBOX has better game. I

I couldn't find it on Gamespot.  And anyway, I have terrible problems with that damn site and their media files.

Ah, maybe I can play a cricket game with that control, be a batsman and whack some serious 6's.

The choices for new and innovative types of games seems quite exciting.

It seems like many people aren't considering the revolution to be a competitor in the next gen console wars, many of the threads I have seen on other sites about the consoles are only Xbox 360 vs the Playstation 3. Well if this page is true ( http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/nintendo-revolution4.htm ) then the ps3 and 360 will have some serious competition, the only advantage the 360 will have over the revolution would be its 6 core CPU, but that may be a disadvantage because:

"many developers have stated that development on the 6-core or 7-core CPUs in the Xbox 360 and PS3 will be quite challenging. " -howstuffworks.com

If you want to read the full article it is at http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/nintendo-revolution.htm

EDIT: Someone deleted his posted, trying to make me look silly  :P

Smooth, sucessful move by someone there ! ;)

I think Nintendo have done well to develope something like this, and I cant see how easy it can be to say "...dont think anyone will use it to much, or for too long..".

I'm a tad dissapointed that I have not seen the Revolution until now. However, as a Hard-Core Nintendo fan, I can rest easy knowing that for once in a LOOONG time, Nintendo will be a major competitor in the Counsole wars.

My god, I cannot stop thinking of playing Golden Eye 64 or Resident Evil with that controller! *Drools*

But Perfect Dark was better then GoldenEye, why do people still talk about GoldenEye like that ?

But yeah, I share your enthusiasm :)

As for the workout, yeah...thats another neat application for this (and anyone that buys one of those corny workout vids deserves it...Geri Halliwell - Haha !:P)

The thing that set Golden Eye apart from the rest- Even games that were superior. Is the fact that Golden Eye was the first Counsole Multiplayer FPS. In measure of influence of future FPS's, it's up there with the granddaddy of them all, Doom.
