I think I lost the screenshots and the model when my HDD got wiped, but I might be able to get them from someone. Yes, they were from the potential expansion thang, and no, I don't intend on finishing it; it's rather pointless.

I made illusions to the minotaur with the ixian tank and I send them to kill the worm. And I kept making illisions until the worm was dead. I had a game update that allowed me to send troops in search&destroy mode, you know... moveing to the spot and engaging anything on the way.

It's the cheapest way possible.

im not an atr.specialist, but do any1 use that option? to pull snipers back in a barack?

i think its not usual to do it, since a sniper is mostly for early games, or worm cover.....but its not often that a sniper levl up up to 3.....and if he do it, its not a sooooo big help, if u get 3 range snipers en mass since u dont need snipers realy in later games.

any other opinions?

Kal if you had 3 snipers that were level 3...why wouldn't you send them into the barracks. At that point they become like Fremen, except they move more like an APC. Can only move short distances without becoming visible. And during late games snipers can come in handy for helping to protect Minos from Fedykin attacks. They also work well if your opponent has mass Sardaukar. Kepp in mind you need a whole bunch of Snipers, but they can be useful.

well, i never play atr, so i didnt knew, that they become invisible at lvl 3....hehe...

but i still never saw any1 doing it

hh......its quite hard to train the infantrymen to 3rd level of eterancy because the die too quickly in battle ;)... I agreee with you that snipers are not much usefull in later games but if you have 3 3rd level snipers, why not to train unlimited count of them? veteran sniper is better than 1st level sniper and i dont remember clearly but i think that they can reveal stealth units...simply, to train veteran snipers is better than train unexperienced snipers.....howgh:-)

Atr infantry at elite are probably one of the last things you'll see in MP, especially.

Look at it:

Sniper has to pick off infantry

Kinjals have to survive Kobras and Invines

If I see someone get an elite LIGHT INFANTRY from the barracks, I will kiss them. I serious would, because it's funny and hard to do.

It is possible to put kindjal in the barracks. Also they do not become invisable

I have once, but its only really possible w/ regular inf and maybe snipers, kindjal take too long to get lvled up. and snipers are hard cuz they never snipe the right units...

So explain this guys, in the worm level when you first start and you get the inf out of the APC,

what type of units are they and are they all invisible?

coz if im right i deployed 20 kindjals that were invisible and rank 3s and all fresh from the barracks. ???

I played campaign and i had deployed rank3 kindjal......he wasnt invisible...but if im right i hadnt downloaded patch when i played it..so it may be diferent by the version...but i realy dont know... ???

I dont belive the kindjals can be invisible cos they have heavy veapon so they cant be no they cant no no no :D

Nope, unless you play with crates and  happen to snag an invis. crate with any type of unit.

hey....i think that kindjals are quite useless in later battle...every infantry in fact...excepts rocket launcher infantry...but atreides have only kindjal and they are very slow and need to deploy...totaly useless... as i says...only house harkonnen will take the throne:-)

there are definitely no invis Kinjal in 1.09 :P

And Atreides infantry get worse over time. In alot of the later Campaign levels, I just had elite minos guard my base and sent any infantry from reinfocemnts to guard the entrances so the enemy would waste their time.

Oh, I beat the Emp worm only with Atreides, but then again I used Feds. (LOL stupid Duke Acheilles going "Bi La Kaifa" means "Long Live the Fighters" :P)

Harkonnen has probaby the best infantry. I couldn't hold the Gunsung/Copec level (I chose defense) until I just clicked on the Rocket Infantry button til I got carpel tunnel. All those rockets!

Best Ordos infantry is mortar, and only by a bit. A fremen soldier can take like 10 of them out alone :P

Face it, Major House infantry suck most of the time. Esepecially with minos/invines/kobras on the field.

Why would you use them against a fremen ? Thats not what they are best against, thats not their strength. Thats like saying 1 elite sard can take out infinate drones, or until the spice runs out !  :P

Seems to be alot of talk about veteran infantry(or lack there of) online. The thread was started because he was trying to beat the worm on the last mission playing Atreides. In that mission you start off with at least 3 lavel 3 snipers and kinjal. In that situation the wise thing to do is to send them back into the barracks so that all produced infantry after them will come out at level 3.

And yes you are all right in the fact that you rarely if ever see veteran infantry online.

2Kalony...of course that fremens and sardaukars are useful ( i love sardaukars:-) but basic infantry ( not Rocket infantry ) is useless.....its good in start of game to secure base and make some minors attack to keep enemy hot:-)
