R.I.P. Interplay

I went to check out what is new at www.interplay.com , only to find I could not get to it!

It seems they pretty much went bankrupt.

One of my favorite companies along with sierra and westwood.

Let's remember them by naming games you played by them or whatever.

Carmageddon - Hundreds of fun filled hours driving over pedestrians. I even got one of the thingies that showed where every pedestrian is on radar and killed all of them to achive victory. :)

Atomic Bomberman - The only bomberman game I played and enjoyed.

Redneck Rampage - A great FPS. Many levels, many weapons/bosses. Ahead of its' time. (the cuss pack was good also.)

Castles - The demo kept me playing for hours.

Anyways you forgot sacrifice, the best one, the people over at sacrifice planet are cheering because they might release the source, or the rights will get handed back to shiny (the dev's)

And guys don't forget interplay was a publisher not a developer.

They fired Black Isle stutiods few months ago, and now they aren't completely dead, but they had to sell over 50% of their offices (and server).

Black Isle owns :x

- Fallout 1,2, Tactics (why did they fire the team while they were making third?)

- Baldur Gates 1,2

- Earthworm Jim  ;D

- Descent 2

- Wasteland, though I never had a manual and couldn't uncover the plot

- MDK (!)

Aww, shame.  I was one of the major StarFleet Academy players on Heat.net before it went bottom-up, and I have played several of the Descent games.  I also played Freespace, a truly great space dogfighting sim.

  I'll miss Interplay and its screwy costomer-service ways... :'(
