well from what I read, I always thought that they were part goblin, part orc. It is mentioned like that. At the same time goblins seem to be teh same as the orcs.

you sure scytale? because you read in return of the king about the "goblin-men" who took over the shire, but it is never mentioned that they are uruks, could be wrong though.

I was pretty sure they were a half-breed of orc and goblin; and orcs were originally elves. Of course it's been a while...

doubt me but I hopld in my hands the friggin tolkien encyclopedia and it states they are men and orcs

another special breed is the olog-hai - basically improved trolls

Yeah, hes right, i also have a tolkien encyclopedia. Mine is the "non friggin" edition. Where can i get a copy of the "friggin tolkien encyclopedia"?
