I think it would be funny if they sent ships to take pictures of the previous spacecraft sent there that landed. (like send the rover to find whatever the other big rover type vehicle was back a few years ago.)

You would think with all the technology advances over 30 years in the making going to the moon would be a lot easier to do now (or in 15 year). Computers would not take up any room compared to 1972.

dont get me wrong guys, I love studying other planets and space, and I love seeing stuff I havent before, but you have to admit it is kinda funny when they post these new mars land pictures.

"hey look the pics are new!"

"yeah, the rocks are positioned differently and the ground is just as flat as ever!"

hehe I cant wait till they start sending probes and things towards the crevases and mountains of mars.

Well they have both, but think about with the size of the picture, and the distance said pictures have to travel to get back, it might be easy to do it in black and white most of the time.

the coolest picture of a different planet would have to be when russia put a probe on the surface of venus (yes it did happen if you didnt know, how they did it I dont know) it sent partial pictures, but was crushed before they could fully be sent.

Yes it was sent in the URSS years.

That probe was crushed by the high density of the atmosphere that has H2SO4, since then, no other probe have been launched to venus.

Why so many probes have been destroyed/lost in/orbiting Mars? Maybe they have found something interesant, and NASA is hiding it?

Or the martians have destroyed them?

Why more missions to Mars?? Why not something new? Like sending a probe to Europe to search for acuatic life; or to Titan, because it has a crapload of CH4 in its atmosphere.

Some people believe it was martians.

Funny thing is they plan to send the other one on schedule before even figuring out what screwed up the other one. Way to waste Billions of dollars. ::)
