Heh heh heh heh... I just managed to get my hands on a First Edition version of God Emperor of Dune.

This is really just to let everyone know, since I'm happy about it. But also, if I were to think of selling it (which I'm not), how much do you think I could make from it?

Hard cover, with dust jacket, good condition, although I wouldn't say mint.

dunno. First edition chapterhouse,g ood condition, coverslip, only was going for $5 on ebay the other week. I was gonna get it, but forgot about it.

Personally I own a few first prints of the Dune books. . though Ex father bought them all as they came out ?

I just dug around a bit and found my dad's first copy of GEOD :) Turns out I had a first edition myself anyway ;)

I've never seen first editions after GEOD going for a whole lot. Personally, I wouldn't pay anything; I buy books to read, so I don't care what reprint it is. Even still, I can't see anyoe paying more than $20 USD for one.

Now, an original Chilton edition of Dune would be nice to have.

Little Bookshop of Horrors

(To give you an idea about ex-library copies, I picked up a first edition of Frank Herbert's Dune at the Lakeside School rummage sale years ago. In decent condition, it would sell for anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 today. My copy, rebound for the school library in thick battleship gray cloth, was purchased for 50 cents. Even if it were worth $500 now, you can see the difference a library stamp makes.)

Maybe your GEOD book would sell for a bit more than you obtained it for.

all my dune books have different covers. no one are from the same period. except House Corrino and House Harkonnen

I have the newest UK version of Dune. The newest American versions of Messiah, Childrem, Heretics and Chapterhouse. And an older UK version of GEOD.

Nothing really special about them. Although I think the newest American version has the best cover from the ones I have seen.
