Well the site will remain in its current form for as long as I get free hosting (like now), I can afford unfree hosting, or whatever full-time job I get next year allows me to run a site like this.

I could pass it along to someone else but no one on staff has the knowledge of HTML, PHP, etc to run the backend side of things.

But, if you don't change too much, does it take a lot of your time to manage the dune2k boards? Perhaps you can contact westwood for help as dune2k is now the official emperor board?

Well the only reason we became the official boards was because WW didn't want to host/spend time managing their forum. :)

But ya it does take a lot of time and if something goes wrong you need to know what you are doing.

IF and only IF Dune2K ever get's in a situation where it needs to quit due to hosting, I'll make sure free hosting will be available. Hosting will never be a problem (not if I can help it anyway :)).

I basicly came here for the same reason Number6 did and that's tech support. Like Number6 said, Tech support here seems to run pretty well with everyone helping out, which is one thing most game boards could be jealous of. I've read other boards and it's usually flames on the tech boards about how stupid people are. Instead of using the time that it took to flame someone to actually help the person, a lot of boards would be a good place to be. Thankfully this board can be used as an example as how it should be. I hope our tech forum will reach that status as well.

I know xhtml & i'm learning php & mysql, does that count? :)

Well Nema knows some html yes but the site is built using PHP and html is only a small part of it. Ken is really then only one who knows PHP and he is just learning. Even if the site does close, which at this point is unlikely, it wouldn't be a big deal to redirect people to another forum and just have the site archived.
