hmmm only 21000 you say? the engine they are using for breed still hasnt had a maximum poly count found yet, with those types of figures you should see what the people down there at the breed forums are modding :O

hmm maybe someone should do a dune mod for breed when it comes out

Um, games like Half-Life 2 has like 3500-7500 polygons per model...

Even though there is no theoretical limit of the amount of polgyons per unit, there's a physical one.

Rheinland Battleship from Freelancer has about 60 000 polygons, I would say a slightly more won't be a problem.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

But you don't see many of them on the screen at once.

And the reason why Freelancer's models are a bit detailed is that there are no terrain to be rendered, and not many ships on your screen at once.

Okay I have finished making a corvette class cruiser.

Wow, that's exactly what I always thought the Angel's Pencil from Larry Niven's Man-Kzin Wars would look like. Awesome! :)
