Yes, reasonably fast but that only comes with practise and I can only type quickly by looking at the keyboard

I type at a comfortable rate.

I do not look at the keyboard when typing because it makes me type faster, but my head automatically look down sometimes. It's just an old habit, but it keeps my fingers quite coordinated.

I saw a website once that logged your WPM copying a letter with the letter onscreen. I don't remember the website name, though, I think it was a ad site about some program that helps your speed.

I'm not exactly sure how fast I am, though it usually depends on what mood i'm in. Right now i'm typing a little faster than normal because i'm thinking about it.

I usually keep my eyes glued to the keyboard though, not because I can't type without looking, but because I type faster (thanks to a mental block, probably) when I'm looking at the keys. I think a better question, however, is, how many and which fingers to you type with? My answer is usually my thumb, middle, and ring finger on my left hand, and my first and middle fingers on my right hand.

I type with all of my fingers. It really does depend on what mood im in though, sometimes I type really fast and accuratly, other times not so fast and really sloppily, like tonight.

the way we learned in typing class (yes we actually had to take one in junior high) was we would be timed for a minute and we would be given a paragraph to copy... so what would happen would the timer would start and we would all type as fast as we could in 1 min copying as much of the paragraph as possible... then at the end we would count how many words we had, and subtract 1 for every mistake, and that was your words per minute... ???

I only got through Jr High with like 42 wpm, but now I am lots faster.

Just post twice on this forum.The first as a controller and the second as your word-test.Pick one of nav's messages since[they are so long] and just type it out[Don't cheat by copying and pasting though] and see how many minutes you take for it.

Yes, I can touch type, and I can do it quite quickly as well. I taught myself how to type using a program on a Macintosh computer several years ago.

When asked to name all the alphabets of the keyboard in order,I cannot do so.But I strangely can type without looking at the keyboard. :O

It's not strange, because when writing, you're not thinking of where you place your fingers, they just automatically jump to the correct key.

I also find this to be the case. I can't really remember the whole keyboard by heart (except for the home row) but my fingers just automatically move to the right key.
