I prefer them off but was in QM the other day, I had just sent my scouts out and when I went to were my first one stopped, surprise there was a NIAB just sitting there all shiny and new. I took it and then warped to the next crate I saw and it went cloaked. Wanna see a pic? Here it is.

I kinda like crates. But then I don't play QM

I won once because of crates. The enemy had about 3 Minotaurus' left. And I had only 1 Dustie left and 3 Fremen Warriors. Because they are faster, I could outrun the Mino's every time. And I hunted for crates, and finally I got a projector...

But is this called luck. I could have collected every crate I want. So no luck involved...

crates are great. if the enemy gets a major one before three minutes, just quit and the game is invalid.

in the late game, the player with more skill is gonna clean up by getting more crates although they won't really have a significant difference in the gameplay at that point in time. they just let you get units that you normally wouldn't get for variety's sake.

on QM sets crates are on, because crates are good.

Depending on which side the advantage is on,NAVigator....

in the late game, the crate advantage always goes to the better player because his superior skill will allow him to do things faster and monitor more parts of the map at once. since that better player is almost always *me* in all the games i play, then yes i suppose i do like crates too because they usually give me more advantage than my enemy.

Whether I play with crates or not depends on who else is playing in the game.

If it's all AI (offline comp stomp), I'll put crates on to spice the game up.

If it's some AI and some human (online comp stomp), I don't care either way.

If it's all human (1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, 2 vs 1 etc), then I don't want to have crates on, since there are rare occasions where people have retrieved crates that reveal the entire map, they get extra cash, they get units like Advanced Carryalls, Guild NIAB tanks, etc etc. This can dramatically alter the outcome of the game if it occurs early enough, so it really boils down to how lucky you are, which I don't think should be a deciding factor in determining who wins the game.

However if I'm not the host of the game, and the game host insists on leaving crates on, then whether I stay will depend on who the game host is, and/or how I'm feeling at that moment.

Did that the other day on an eight player map. Hunting down stealth harvestor was fun.
