Yes, I definately like it.

It looks great when the whole screen is tiled in it ;D

Btw, could you give it a more orange tint? Not much, but a bit orange would be very great.

Could you possibly make a rock tileset too?(as seem to be good at this)

A rock tileset might be quite a challenge to make.

It consists of 16 images.

tileexample.jpg

Nine "normal" tiles + 3 horizontal, 3 vertical and one single tile.

Together, this will create a flawless rock set.

It's very hard to do this, so you might not want to do it, but if you want to, I'd be very pleased. :)

what sort of rock would you like? A rock to build on? Rock to put intantry on? Rock that looks nice? Also, would you like me incorperate the sand tile I have already done into the design?

Posted

Yes, that is important.

That was why I wanted a good sand tile, because it affects all the other tiles.

I want rock to build on first.

But infantry rock would be needed later.

great!

With your help, the map editor will be released sooner.

btw, please try to make the sand a little more orange, and use the bmp format to save the tiles, please.

ok. Sand is a little more orange, and I have attempted to make the rock thing. I didn't change it to a BMP at the mo. as it would be a large file (a waste of time if you didn't want it).

It looks a bit bland, any ideas on how to improve it? Did you want it to look like the rock in your previous post?[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

Info about tilesets:

Filetype: BMP

Width: 32 pixels

Height: 32 pixels

Depth: 24 bit

The easiest method is if you send me all tiles in their own file(not like whole tilesets in one bmpfile).

This is because I will use a tileprogram I've made to compile the tiles into one bmp file and make a config file.

Here's some important info about tilesets(which I posted earlier).

And some more important info:

What makes tilesets such as rock and spice very hard is that not only must the 9 tiles, the 3 horizonatal, and the 3 vertical tiles fit together, but also a few other combinations of tiles need to fit perfectly together.

Here's a picture:

combinations.jpg

The tile combintation in the middle must also, like all the other combinations of tiles also be able to rotate and still look flawless.

Here are five different sand tiles which tellesate with each other, and can be chosen by a map editor at will; I'll make more later, if that's of interest. Here is a piece of unadorned rock, and again, I intend to make more similar versions, and then edges.

Will you want cliffs like Dune2k as well as just normal rock/sand boundaries?[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

Assuming that no cliffs are wanted I have put together a small rock set. If there are parts missing then please tell me ;D[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

Some tiles are missing from your tileset, and there are more than one of the same tile type.

Please check over it.

You should have:

1 North tile

1 Northeast tile

1 East tile

1 Southeast tile

1 South tile

1 Southwest tile

1 West tile

1 Northwest tile

1 Verticalnorth tile

1 Verticalmiddle tile

1 Verticalsouth tile

1 Horizontalwest tile

1 Horizontalmiddle tile

1 Horizontaleast tile

Use that checklist. The tileset was looking good, though.

And yes, I will need cliffs and such later, but I need these tiles with smoothed edges anway.

ok, I have made the additional tiles in this new .zip folder ;)

I have included 3 full (no sand) rock tiles to give variety. You can shove some of the tiles from the previous set in to :)[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

I'm posting these in 128x128 firstly because I can't be bothered to convert, and secondly in case anyone wants to play about with them.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]
